great vid Dan wish you had brought it out before I bought our new to use van last Oct, but as you said buying from a dealer you would be covered for any faults with the warranty that would come with the caravan. thanks again and don't wait too long for the next one really like you videos, cheers m8.

Great video and very comprehensive list. Just a mention on Alko wheel lock, the owner/seller will need to de-register the lock otherwise the new owner will not be able to request replacement parts i.e. keys. This may be the same for other makes.

Hi Dan. I am happily using your checklist against my new van, no problems so far. There may be a missing area in the checklist - The grey water system, ie Check each waste flow is ok, no leaks, flow is reasonable Check that waste water piping is sound with no leaks. (I have had a number of problems where the waste joins the waste water piping - can result in damp in the van) Check that waste water van exit connections are sound and securely connected to the van and that don't leak when waste pipe connected

Great video Dan, the videos getting better and better .the try to cheat us with selling our Caravan but luckily everything worked out fine. Ask why are European Caravan’s so different as caravans from the UK, showers load capacity layout etc.

As with everything else, its buyer beware. With regards to your most helpful pre-buying list, I d o not think sellers would entertain that kind of inspection from a buyer. Therefor, it would be better to get the professionals in, and if they do not accept them...Time to walk ! Thanks Dan.

Hello Dan, very helpful videos which have helped us get and sort our first van a swift 480 . Have you a vid / thoughts on twin vs singles as we are thinking of getting. Swift 635 as we think we’d like more room and better fixed bed. Dilemma is will it be too big / heavy even within tow limit for easy touring with our 3L BMW X3 . We like the small 480 but making up beds every night is tiresome and not that comfy, What are your thoughts on twin v singles ?

So i have know the car i need and caravan know just finance to be sorted i hope by August all your videos are brilliant helpful so are travelling k and carefree caravan.Again thanks Dan

The first and most important check is to make sure the floor is not delaminated. Usually around kitchen area walk way as this is used the most Next, on oven and fridge, check seals. Bad ones will use more electric! And/or cause possible hygiene problems. And very important. If no evidence of new brake shoes last year or two, negotiate having them done. A caravan with no or little braking could kill you! Last, check for any panal respray. I have seen quite a few repaired vans, and some were diabolical. Overspray around windows, on chassis, tyres, lights, etc are a give away. Great list otherwise.

Look really closely, you'll realise its not my caravan ;-) The window was opened for some photography where i was stood outside poking through the window of this caravan. good spot though !
