excellent i was able to take the wheel off without a tool. you might want to mention to have the steering wheel tilted all the way up so your knees can fit

thanks. it's been 30+ years since i worked on a Ford, was given a 2000 Explorer recently, it needs the on/off switch for the cruise control to be replaced, and the plastic under the leather is twisted and stuffed, the former i can get from china for AUD$35, but no idea if i can get a steering wheel yet. it also needs an in tank fuel pump (or so i'm told), will get it on my hoist before i order a pump

I would add after disconnecting battery turn on headlights heater fan to remove the possibility of any electrical charge in the system that could activate airbag.

I have an 04 explorer and it's stuck in park and won't let me put it in reverse or anything. I've seen a few videos but they don't really makes sense, could you help me out?

if this were my situation, i would check that the lock shaft is not stuck. I have never had that particular problem, but sometimes it would not want to shift out of park...and i had to try to turn the steering wheel to dislodge the lock shaft.
