I’ve been Traditional WetShaving for over 3 years and just got into straight razor shaving . I went into my first shave very confident because I also have lots of experience with shavettes and a Kamasori style Shavette that takes the feather artist club blades. I also have tons of vintage Gillette’s , Shave brushes, and soaps. It’s really the best. 💈😁✌🏻💈 ~Mike 🌹

Turkish razor are the best razors to use 💈. I've been using them since I started being a barber 💈
@tbrew8222 Жыл бұрын
❤️🇹🇷💈Thank you for giving Turkish razors some love and the attention they deserve. EVERY straight razor hot shave I got at a barber, Sedef made an appearance. This was in the days before my state banned non disposable blades, and yet The turkish shavette was used for detail and clean up like second or third pass under the nose, sideburn lines etc. So when I was shopping for my first shavette, I recognozed the sedef from those experiences and did not let the price make me think they are bad. Instead, I thought it was a steal of a deal. since then, I have tried a few with the clasp closure, and the pinch closure. I always go back to the turkish shavette. In fact, I have several, and Im about to order another double pack. Some of mine are modified to take other blades. To run injector size blades; insert a shim in the bottom of the front loader crack. Do it to an extra because the shim is not easily removed, and it will then be dedicated to these smaller thicker blades. I run 2.5" personna hair shaper blades by (safely) removing the blade spine (use one of the methods for Gem blades) and it goes straight into a sedef. If you have heard of Weck, it looks and shaves like that (closest to a straight razor of any shavette due to stifness and 2.5" blade). I also like to make scales for them. my favorite is an antler tip handle with a personna blade.🕉♒️

I actually like the scissor style shavettes . I have the classic Samurai stainless one. Not too heavy....All the other ones look cheap
@Playvoodoo7 ай бұрын
Loose clasp can be fixed by using pilers and wood strips, Turkish razor like Sedef or Ali Bikili can be little cumbersome to load a blade. I’ve never seen Turk barber used a clasp-type shavette.

Great video, man. I just picked up a couple from Turkey yesterday, but had so much trouble getting a DE blade snapped in half to go in. I've ordered some proper pre-cut blades (Perma-Sharp) which will be here in a day or so. I'll try with hot water and try again. Thanks man.

Nice, informative video, Turko. I left a comment last week that I was finally getting a shavette and the one I bought is the one you don't recommend, lol. Luckily, I cancelled the order a day after I placed it. I'll check out the one you sent me a link to again.

@@gkaniza4726 I'm a barber myself and I use sedef and ali biykili (there exactly the same btw ahha) but the reason there so good Is because its light, it's really slim, easy to use , you can get them in any colour Haha, putting the blade in is easier than other cut throats , they last you a long time if you take proper care of it. If your thinking of getting a sedef cut throat.. BUY A FEW OF THEM Haha because there so cheap and you can start a cool collection 😂👍👍👍💈

To me he just sounds relaxed. I am sick of all media being either propaganda loaded with emotion and negative tones, or a high energy sales pitch. There is almost nothing besides those anymore. youtubers talking in a normal calm voice is a sigh of relief. commenting more than once and thumbs up to feed the algorithms.
