The conversation with Yolanda should have happened as soon as she and her husband moved in. She was being lied to by her son. And who was paying what could have been easily proved.

In these stories they always transfer the bills to the husband. No bank would be willing to take the breadwinner off of the loan.

The MIL in this story shares her first name with the woman who killed '90s Latin-American singer Selena. That MIGHT have been the biggest red flag of them all.

@susahansen1290, they might not, if this story were real, have much equity. As a newly divorced woman, she also might not want a 6-bedroom house. We can guess forever!

I would like to know the name(s) of any country where one can just change the name on a mortgage loan to avoid having to pay it. Sounds like an easy way to scam somebody.
@sjmcc136 ай бұрын
Normally possible if the person signs that they are taking over the loan. Which is one way people who do not pay attention to what they are signing get scammed.
@krazycatz6 ай бұрын
Actually they did not change the name(s), they removed one of the names that was on there. Of course in my opinion they would have done a financial background check on the person whose name was now on the documents and if they determined that person was incapable of paying for the loan by themselves they would probably have required that the person have a co-signer who could pay off the loan. Usually something like this could take up to a year or more to settle and sometimes the only way to settle it (even when everyone involved is in agreement) is through the courts. It just depends on where you live in the world and what the laws are there.
@rebeccascott65086 ай бұрын
They were both on the loan. After the divorce, and being kicked out, she did what any self respecting person would do- she removed herself from the loan. And it's totally legal. They are divorced. She is not obligated to pay for a house she doesn't live in and she is right. They should have read the paperwork!

I really need someone to explain this to me... how do you let someone move into YOUR house boss you around and disrespect you?... I don't give a damn it's MIL or jezus... no way in frick'n hell I'm allowing someone in my house to speak, mistreat, disrespect or talk to me crazy in my own shyt.. Yolanda should've been gone the first time she thought it was her house and she was the boss.. she wouldn't of been there a second longer.. her good for nothing useless son can go too. That house would be considered "marital home/marital property" since they bought it together.. in the case of a divorce the house would either be sold and the profit split or one party buys out the other party with half the value of the house.. why would she just switch it to his name and not insist on selling that mofo?

No way would any bank let a guy who only works part-time , assume the mortgage on a house The first thing a bank demands , is verification of income . And I don't give a damn in what country this story is set in . All banks have pretty the same policies . Income verification is the very first thing a bank will demand .
