This story has been done a few times, this one with little tweeks. Loved how FL calculated her plan to get the divorce. Loved how she wasn't overly emotional when she spoke with ML after the divorce, just relief and free. Loved how she ageed to visit ML at the hospital to formally finalize a proper break-up. Loved how the writers made ML experience abandonment. Loved that the writers didn’t make ML over the top insane, and properly accept their relationship is over and what's lost is lost. Loved MIL characterization, she was a voice of reason. Did not like adding the FL sick mother medical expenses in exchange for the relationship plot. Good short story and good rendition of this plot.

ML you don’t deserve her at all. I don’t understand why if you don’t want to be with her why not let her go but you don’t want her to move on and than you start to accuse her saying she doesn’t want to be with you bc she found someone new. A person does not need a new man/woman in their life to move on. They can move on and be fine. He treated his mistress better than her. He left her at the wedding party with the mistress. What woman would just say ok it will be fine. She got him back with the trick of the divorce paper. She was smart doing that when he was distracted by the mistress wanting him to be with her. FL even told the mistress you can have him bc I don’t want him but the ML decided he didn’t want the mistress either. He finally learn how it felt being left behind when you got hurt. She left him there bleeding and walk away like nothing. Glad she didn’t take him back all for the knife situation. She move on and ML finally got that she doesn’t want to be with him. Happy she chose herself.

I love the FL in this! How refreshing to see a mature, poised, resolute woman clearly ending things with her neglectful husband. She never looked back, never wavered, never gave him false hope. This drama could have stayed at a high level if they'd just left out the silly SFL trying to kill the FL and the ex-husband taking the knife for her. We really didn't need such a predictable plot device. It added nothing to the story, though it was satisfying to see the evil little witch get arrested in the end. It was wonderful to see a FL who acted like an adult, calm and self respecting throughout.
