You have a note: Fix psn every 30min (GPS / RAD / VIS / PI). Why do you have to manually plot psn by GPS every 30 min?

Yes, during approaching port or departure.

@@MARINERS-CLUB manual psn fixing means cross-checking one mean of fixing - i.e. GPS, by other mean - i.e. radar range and brg. Since your electronic chart is an ECDIS, it means your equipment ALWAYS has data feed from gyro, loch, and GPS; hence "live" vsl psn at all times. Manual psn fix by GPS, on ECDIS is a non-sense. To apply navigation warnings the same procedure like applying no go area etc. On this video I'm showing how to do it. Using user maps you can apply on the charts your NAVAREA (military practice area etc.).
