The ml didn’t deserve the fl and I thought that she would stick to her ethics but she didn’t she went back with him. After all the humiliating scenarios and the things that happened to her because of the ml didn’t wake her up 🧐 another fl that is weak and treated as a doormat. He claimed he loved her but he also said he misunderstood her and it was his ego that made her go through a lot. Idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I would have walked away and never looked back. He did the bare minimum in rescuing her, she thanked him for his saving grace but she should have left after that. These fl in these dramas are portraying women to stick with men that are worthless and have ego issues and are abusive. They stand their ground for a bit but eventually forgives and goes back. It’s sad to see a lot of Asian dramas that have weak fl and they don’t have a lot of dramas where the fl are strong and stand their ground and move on from these abusive egotistical men.

The sheer lack of respect for the female lead by the male lead is truly astounding! He treats her like a sex toy and personal servant that he keeps a secret from the world, he loans her out to another man for sex, he humiliates her repeatedly in public, he publicly gets engaged. And the funniest part is that he thinks he has a legitimate reason: he’s doing it to appease his grandfather (who is a psychopath himself)- but apparently thinks it’s ok to do all of this and not explain to the FL but instead to keep emotionally torturing her. He doesn’t consider her feelings- at all. That’s not love. That’s possession maybe. But not love. Sad that these delusional writers have no idea what love is and have no idea how to write a satisfying ending.

Heres a suggestion. She could have been honest about who she was, her status and her relationship to her brother. Everyone around her acted according to the false identity she gave them. You might find this unpalatable but most rich business familes do not marry people with no money or status. Nobody should be surprised that his family was totally against him marrying her. As that is part of the culture she should have been aware of it, she had to know that marriage (given false identity she provided) would not be an option. Yet she willingly had a 5yr affair and continued to lie about her true identity even after the engagement and resignation. It was a situation of her own creation.

The issue for me is why break up and then be angry. She knew the engagement was a business/status transaction, why didn't she tell him the truth. He didn't send her to another man's bed he just didn't stop her. Why did she go into the room with the man? Nobody was forcing her. She could have simply refused. Also in my opinion it was obvious that he loved her. Obvious to many of his male friends including his male personal assistant. Obvious to his fiancee and the reason why she reacted so fiercely to her. From what I could gather he treated her well and with repect during their 5yr affair. Things only got nasty after the engagement and most of that came from others not him. His bullying stemmed from anger and confusion at her leaving and finding a new boyfriend (both she and her brother indentified the brother as boyfriend and not brother) so fast. All could have been avoided if she had been honest (disclose her true indentity and the *boyfriend* was really her brother) instead she behaved like some sulky, I'm gonna play/be the victim, little madam.

The mixed up two scripts together and came up with a pretty good mixup. The usual two scripts are 1) the secretary of five years as hidden lover and she wakes up to find her boss/lover engaged to 2FL (father's decree) and she sets out to just be a secretary. The 2FL keeps bullying her and FL finally disappears and ML keeps looking for her. The car sales and the shallow-water drowning (LOL) scenes are from this script and 2) the secret heiress working as a secretary plot. The FL falls in love with a CEO but being an heiress, she wants to prove that he loves her for herself. She, having been brought up by an adoptive mother, knows the ordinary life well enough not just be a pampered heiress. Father gives her five years. There is an abusive MIL and SIL in this version. She is beaten and gives up one day after MIL (or ML) asks for divorce, calls her brother to tell dad he won, then leaves in a limousine after refusing the check. The brother is mistaken as her lover is from this plot. All the subsequent rich clothes/company president fights are from this one too and the best one, of course, is when she is announced as the true heiress. The looks on all the ML, 2FL, MIL and SIL faces are always fun to watch. Sometimes she takes the ML back and sometimes she doesn't, depending the version. Secret smart/rich wife-lover trope is found quite a bit in these dramas. Anyway, this mash-up was pretty entertaining if you don't think too much of the logic. If they had film a scene detailing the bet where she tells her father she has been brought up ordinary and wants to try being ordinary, then the father's stage speech to ML would have made better impact because father told ML exactly why she did what she did.

The grandfather and ML’s sister were ridiculously prejudiced and classist and deserved to be publicly humiliated amount their friends and lose face. The male lead is so colossally self centers and stupid 1:29:16 he literally has to ask “who do you mean that I failed you” to the female lead who he has spent the entire drama treating like dirt under his feet-giving her to another man for sex, bullying, and alternating neglect with outright abuse. This was awesome. It had angst, moments that pissed you off … and all the stereotype elements you expect - evil mistress, drugging drinks, pregnancy, kidnapping laced cloth, tie up, forgiveness stab, poor girl actually a rich girl, cold CEO, gossip & slander, hospital scenes … but this was epic. Villain gone crazy and pulling all the stops! I did enjoy it and it was entertaining. Loved the brother! So protective of sister and helped to neutralize all the negativity surrounding her.

Actually I feel no sympathy for the FL character. She went to the ML characters business and got a job willingly had an 5yr affair, all the time giving a false backround story of who she was and were she came from. She knew when came time for him to marry the status and family background of the bride would be of utmost importance. At the time of the engagement she could have disclose the truth about herself and her brother but chose not to. Everything she experienced was because of her own lie and refusal to disclose the truth. Basically she reaped what she sowed and made many people miserable.

To be fair, this male lead was a typical cowardly bully who wanted to control and own her without treating her with an ounce of respect or basic decency. He wanted to force HER to admit her feelings to him when he could t admit even the tiniest bit of his to her. And hilariously he is unable or unwilling to stand up to his elderly grandfather like a man but instead takes out his frustrations on someone smaller and weaker (the FL) rather than standing up for himself. I have NO use what she saw in such a pathetic man. Other than his looks, what does he bring to a relationship? Nothing. I just didn’t see any actual love here. And if she ever once loved him, I don’t think it would have survived his intentional, vicious abuse. I did not believe the ending for one bit. No way she went back to this party I excuse for a man.
