Loved this drama!! The whole thing was so well done -- great story line, wonderful actors, good romance, adorable kid, really good production values, and the cast/characters were so well written and acted. I remember how much i cried when i first watch this seen. Like im literally bawling. I feel her pain like bruhhh, why is she being blamed for everything? No one knows her pain until then. And she just accoets all the blame and hatred thrown to her as if she really was to blamed.

I don't know if all of these Chinese drama recappers are aware of it or not, but Cinderella is not English for "protagonist" or "lead actress" or "door mat". "Cinderella" refers to someone unappreciated by their family whose life changes when they get to attend an event held by royalty who are looking for a spouse for their heir. When the person tries to leave before the specified time that would result in them being caught, an item is left behind on accident that allows the heir to locate them. When a person is found by the heir, their lives are joined in both are happier.

But in China they usually call the FL as Cinderella and most of these videos titles are originally posted in Chinese and YT translates it to your language automatically

I agree with your definition, but I think the Chinese use this term to indicate that she's the "good" girl who is misunderstood and treated badly until the end when everything gets a "happily ever after" ending--just like in the fairy tale.

Madam English translator you can easily apply to China to help with correcting the auto generated titles. Or you can keep quiet and move along… can you speak Mandarin or Cantonese? No… so keep quiet as they are already doing you a favour by putting the video up with English subtitles they don’t owe you anything

Cinderella is a kind of nickname used to describe the girl's situation in these types of dramas, just as the name Karen is used for annoying women, here the name Cinderella is used to describe poor girls who marry rich men, in other words, it is a term that is compatible with the fairy tale but used independently of the fairy tale.
