He doesn't want to stay married to her because he loves her more than his ex or even because he loves her at all; he doesn't want to lose the benefits he gets from being married to her. She and her family have leant him money to start his own business and haven't been paid back, so if they divorce she and her family would no longer be 'obligated' to help him financially in the future. She isn't perfect by any means, but he is emotionally abusive and uses her as his emotional stress ball, tearing into her whenever he's having a bad day. He only 'cares' about her when it looks bad for his image to their families if he doesn't. I mean she was *literally* hospitalised and he only bothered to continue to take care of his ex, while his family and hers looked after her, because his ex 'doesn't have a support system and you do', which apparently doesn't include her own damn husband. Putting the sisters back with their disgusting husbands at the end was terrible writing, neither was truly sorry until the sidepieces they destroyed their marriages for left them!

If my husband is caring for his ex this way, I won't tolerate it at all. He either choose or her. He's married now and he has no business taking care of somebody else. If he chooses so then it's the end for us.

"The Perfect Couple" (2017) - Yuming is unbelievable, true there is a LOT of miscommunication and real misunderstanding between him and Yifan but he sees with his own eyes IN HIS FACE the awkwardness the discomfort the pain and agony his behavior is causing his wife and he absolutely will NOT stop taking care of his ex He feels completely justified in doing what he's doing and feels he's the victim because his wife should understand and accept what he's doing - all the emotion caring and love he should be pouring into his sick wife he happily gives to his ex - he's not a physical cheater he's an emotional cheater unbelievably self-absorbed and loves playing the victim

The storylines of these types of drama are absolute trash; absolute rubbish and do not present Chinese society in a good light. There is no point watching entertainment like this that is degrading and make the viewers feel dirty, depressed, and where the women in particular are being gaslighted all the time. Utter rubbish.

I hated this show and it's story line. These inconsiderate men had no real consequences. After they destroyed everything, they were still accepted back. It teaches women to have to accept and tolerate.
