I've been to the factory in South India. Man, you should see the smiles on their faces when you tell them their bikes are loved globally. They're not proud, just glad people love what they made. At great risk to my wallet, I have to admit that there are more good bikes coming very soon.

I bought one of these just as a weekend toy, I have the full seat on and don't see it as a cruiser or a bobber. It's a roadster, just like any Japanese bike I owned in the 80s and 90s. Simple basic road use bike, with decent handling. She is far too heavy to have sporty pretensions really, but has character by the ton. The sound and feeling of that engine is I why I bought it. If I'd wanted anything other than this as a play toy, I would have bought it!
@arnohag1Ай бұрын
All the 650cc Enfield can always do with a few opening up mods that give them a little more pep. New air filter and box mods and an upgraded exhaust to make it bark a little. I think the shotgun is the best looking. Thanks Kate for the review.
@markmueller8099Ай бұрын
I've had a stencil white Shotgun since the end of April after many, many years away from 2 wheels. Lets be honest, the only reason we are all mentioning the word "sporty" is because the press insist on placing labels on things, cruiser, bobber, cafe racer, supersport.... Is the Shotgun sporty? Well, it all depends on what you expect from it. If you've just stepped off of a CB125F then probably, yes. But if you're usual bike is an H2R then no. I think of it like a bottle of red. Do i buy the most expensive just because so wine boffin tells me about the "oaky, citrus notes" or do i just buy what i like? The Shotgun does absolutely everything i need it to do. For me, its just a toy for a weekend blast down to the coast. I'll never tour on it or ride it in the rain (i have a car for that). So no, in the true sense of the word, the Shotgun isnt a sports bike but, it's still more capable than it really should be. You're never gonna take it on a track day, as it's not made for that. However, how many times have i seen some full race suited wannabe proddy racer bottle it into a corner on his R1 and almost stick it in a ditch? As the saying goes "all the gear and no idea".
@UsernameKateАй бұрын
Exactly, you're 100% right. It all depends on a persons personal experience of motorcycles as to what their expectations are and how they think about a bike. That's why I always recommend people ride bikes for themselves and take KZbinrs reviews with a pinch of salt because other than us stating the facts about specs etc, people may feel a totally different type of way about a bike when it actually comes to riding it :)
@kwood1112Ай бұрын
As a very happy owner of one of these bikes, I can say that I think they are fantastic, I love mine. It is definitely not a sports-bike, I don't that's a valid comparison. I think it's a cool, sporty, modern cruiser with some old-school style, and has the attitude and handling to make it more fun and nimble than a lot of cruisers. And keep that child-like playfulness and optimism - I love it, and we need more of it in the world!

Username Asbo at it again, giving it revs for the kids 😂 Royal Enfield seem to be good at producing “a motorbike”. It might not be spectacular in any department but it’s pretty good at everything. Absolutely buttons to buy them as well. Really tempting for a lot of people, I’m sure.

It’s a lovely bike,great fit and finish,lovely engine and gear box. It handles nicely but it’s not a sports bike and I don’t think RE have ever said it’s a sports bike. Don’t knock this bike because someone misrepresented it calling it a sports bike. It’s a cruiser without the daft forward non controls.

Yeh RE never claims thier bikes as sports bike. C'mon anyone can say it, its just the bike for the people who love to ride and feel. RE claims their bikes as classics with modern touch. That's it. Its pure for the classic lovers. In India, its being sold as a classic cult. Bikes for the cool headedman, gentlemans who just love to ride and enjoy.

Compared to the other bikes, and I've ridden/reviewed most (if not all), in the range, it definitely handles better, than any of the others. The suspension is superb, considering the price range. You're such a refreshing voice in the moto vlogging world, Kate. I really enjoy your videos. I bought a Shotgun about a month and a half ago. I agree with your assessment. It's not a sport bike but it is sportier than the Super Meteor 650. Two distinct bikes even though they share a frame and engine. I've had a Super Meteor 650 Celestial since late last year. I enjoy riding both of them. Never thought I'd say that because I've had sport bikes and sport tourers for years but as I get older, a lighter weight, smaller bike is a lot easier to live with. My bum knee is happy as well. I'm also finding the simplicity of them rather refreshing; no annoying menus to scroll through to make an adjustment. What adjustment? My only gripe is with the rear suspension on the Super Meteor; could be less jarring. I haven't tried to mess with the preload settings yet to see if that makes any difference.

Kate. When you rode the Interceptor, did you adjust the rear preload? I am 80kg suspension preload 1 click from max and I have no issues with the suspension. 2x M20 washers on top of the front springs sorts the front end out with an extra 6mm of preload. At about 12mins in, you state that the suspension is rather hard, and compare it to other REs, but this is a Bobber and they started out life as hardtailed bkes. I would not expect nor want a soft ride on a Bobber, so maybe I should go try out this bike.
