Just wanted to add; I had a bad case of athletes foot that nothing over the counter was doing anything for. Borax destroyed the athletes foot. Amazing stuff. Don't be conservative with it either. Foot bath I used 1/2 cup per gallon of water. Multiple times a day. I sprinkle a lot in my socks, and in my shoes. It worked so well. I have had ZERO bad side effects. No skin irritaion etc. from the borax. Don't even mess with the stuff they sell for athletes foot. Go for borax. To make it a finer powder I bought a cheap coffee grinder.

I often have issue with not standing still while attempting delicate welds due to ants in my stinky boots. This will fit the bill nicely for a 4 in 1 cure. Thanks Big Clive! P.S.- I add table salt or boric acid to my ethanol home made hairspray can vapor camping stove to give a yellow or green flame so I can be aware of where any spills need to be quickly put out if I'm using the stove in daylight. Salt doesn't dissolve well in ethanol and neither does boric acid but, I can add a small amount of water to salt and shake it inside the can, then fill it full of ethnol and burn it completely dry. It leaves a fine crust of salt adhered to the inside of the can, boric acid does similar without the water but, I like yellow for safety flame. Done this way, it gives off the sodium vapor quickly & I can fill the stove many times with alcohol before needing to coat the inside again. Also, since the salt is adhered to the can, I can drain any left over alcohol back out and not get loose salt in my alcohol container or my stove becoming a salt shaker when dry (although, I guess a stove doubling as a salt shaker after cooking would be kind of a bonus).

I've been looking for a treatment for toe nail fungus. I do online shopping at Walmart bc if you can't find it in their stores, they definitely sell it online.(walmart ONLINE carries stuff you can't find anywhere else)I'm ordering, a bag of boric acid but idk if it's powder or granules & really don't care as long as it dissolves & mixes well. I've heard of boric acid, my grandma used it for e-thing. She maimly used it for foot soak, wash socks, put it in shoes. I should've remembered that. It took me searching the internet b-4 I remembered how much she used it. She also used it for killing ants & would sprinkle around the edges of the counters & back door. When I first looked up boric acid it came up as ant & roach killers. I found this to be an interesting product & very versatile. I'm going to use it for a foot soak & sprinkle in my shoes. Boric acid is only lightly soluble in water, so it can't be very toxic even if ingested in larger quantities (within reason). The LD50 numbers refer to the amount that actually dissolved in the bodily liquids and thus made its way into the system. Actually, I've never heard of boric acid being used as flux - its salt, sodium tetraborate (borax) is. Not only for welding and forging - there even used to be borax bars for soldering iron tip cleaning.

After watching this video... I Ebay and Amazon the price of Boric Acid online... Expensive. Then, I went to the Dollar Store and found a the "20 Mule Team" borax brand for $5 dollars, and I bought it... The online prices run at $27-30/box. The way used it... Since, I don't like to feel the grittnes against my skin. I got a 2 oz spray bottle that I filled with 1 oz of witch hazel, and 1 oz of water mixed with 1/4 tsp of Borax; the borax and water mixture were placed in the microwave for 1 minute since borax doesn't dissolve on cold water. Then, I cooled it down, and added it to the witch hazel inside the spray bottle. After doing that, I just spray it inside my shoes, feet, and armpits.

For ants it's better put in protected piles with sugar to give them an incentive to take it back to their nest. There's a lot of documentation about it on the 'net. But where they are a significant issue, I'd suggest staying with proven treatments while experimenting with the new ones.

Boric acid does not actually burn. What burns actually, is the methanol. The heat or the energy supplied ionizes Boric acid and when the electrons are de-excited, radiations in the visible region are emitted whose frequency and wavelength matches those of green. So, a green flame is produced.

I'm not sure how boron is used in motor oil. Boric acid is used as a dry powder lubricant in some applications. It appears that Boron Nitride is used in oils, but I'd be very cautious about just adding it to oil.

It is mined, ground up fine, and sold. When used for swimming pool filtration, it is heated up and toxic for human consumption. There is a Food Grade DE sold on Amazon which is okay to eat and use medically. I use it only for dusting food crops in my back yard, or flowering plant leaves. Food Grade DE is non toxic but should not be inhaled. DE dust can irritate your lungs and dry them out, so use a mask. DE powder kills insects by piercing their outer skeletons like glass shards would pierce our skin. It also dehydrates flea eggs and pierces larvae, so good to rub into the carpet mixed with boric acid only where your dog sleeps so that flea eggs don't hatch. Careful not to create dust that you or dog inhales. This is an irritant, but not toxic. Putting DE as a band around plant stems, kills snails and night crawlers. Dust the leaves too. Theoretically, it should kill worms and parasites inside you or a pet, but who knows if that works or not? I would use a dewormer which is 100% effective on my pets or myself. DE is guesswork. But it does kill insects 100% and is non-toxic, hurrah! 4. Hello. Can you PLEASE tell me if I can make a paste with the boric acid (and vinegar, or?) for scalp ringworm? I have RW lesions all over my scalp, so it will be covering quite a bit of surface. I have had the scalp RW now for 4 years (I have tried everything and yes, my diet is sugar free!). As well, I have RW all over my body, but it has gone systemic and is too difficult to treat topically on my body. If you think I can take some internally, I will try that! Lol, so confused... I just bought a bag of industrial grade powder to deal with ants in the garden. +That Linux Gamer It's worth a try, but you might have to dust the area and use a dressing to hold it in contact. I'm not sure if that fungal thing (not a worm at all) is under the skin or on the surface.
