Not only was this a great, -to the point- video displaying so many useful wood processing techniques that you can utilize with a tomahawk, you did it all in one take; including nailing the throw! Really well done, and thanks. Excellent job!

Good ideas there! I like the sheath. Simple but effective. Made mine from blackthorn, and some shock cord I had left over. Thanks for ideas!

A tomahawk has many uses and it saves your knife from batoning , a lot of guys think they need an axe for bushcraft as if they are going to go out in the the woods and find a free pile of cord wood, a tomahawk is light and will suffice just fine 👍😁💪🏻

Well, to be fair, if you live in the middle of a Northern winter, a larger, proper axe become much more desirable. Of course a cord of wood won't be laying around....but you'll NEED to MAKE a cord of firewood in short order! That said, lots of other factors. If you have a properly rated sleeping bag, that negates the need for larger and heavier tools. Or, being able to make a smaller, enclosed shelter with a SMALL indoor fire (that doesn't require lots of big wood) may work too.

Another fun and informative video... I have been using a Tomahawk and knife since I was about 8 years old. I even have some 4lbs tomahawks that have 5.5" cutting edges that I use for felling/heavy tasks. Love the packability and the ease of replacing hafts.

Now that looks like a whole lot of fun! However, I don't really see the point of carrying it around ion the woods, or at camp. It's long, a difficult shape to carry, and a bit limited in application. I also don't see that it can do anything I can't do with my Cold Steel Trail Master knife, which I would have with me anyway. I generally steer away from axes in the woods, as there are more energy-efficient ways to do the same thing. My cutting tools selection would be: a Siky saw (not negotiable! probably a Gomboy or Bigboy), a large knife (the Trail Master, also a medium size "bushcraft" knife (Victorinox Venture Pro), and a multi-tool knife (my Victorinox Swiss Champ). This is my Heavy Carry. If I was in a situation where weight is at a premium, I'd use my "light Carry": a medium size belt knife (Cold Steel SRK, sabre grind, in CPM 3V), and a Victorinox Hercules knife (which has a saw on it). I would not normally carry a saw with this carry, unless I anticipate a LOT of wood processing, then I'd include a Silky Pocketboy. If the situation includes some sort of camp, or home base, and where some form of transport is nearby (eg car, truck, horse, or quadbike) I'd definitely have an axe as standard camp equipment. Using an axe is, after all, great fun! I've always been partial to the idea of especially the tomahawk or small forest axe, but as I've learned and developed over the years it seems to make less sense to me. Cheers mate.

I since have put a piece of rubber over the end with a strap so it wasn't so "in the way" thanks

As far as camping and bushcraft, it's king IMHO, I pair with knife and saw. I bought a swedish axe only to realize I won't be making log cabins and felling trees, pointless. Most places I camp really don't like people using wood in the area anyway. So a tomahawk makes more sense and will help greatly in processing firewood
