Daigo did really good at this tournament. I just wish he looked like he was having more fun. I think that's the reason he doesn't get much cheering from the crowd. He literally has no charisma at all. It's just like a job for him. Which is sad because, as a job, it doesn't pay well at all. Might as well have fun with it :/
@metaminerx9 жыл бұрын
TrueUnderDawgGaming he does that off camera. he is actually laughing and having fun when he isnt in the beast mode.
@BieberSucksCock1009 жыл бұрын
TrueUnderDawgGaming He's always been like that, that's pretty much how he built his reputation. He was just stone faced as he destroyed competition. Doesn't indicate whether or not he's having fun. Excluding the massive amounts of money he has won from tournaments over the years, the guy has a bazzilion sponsers, book deals, you name it, in Japan. He's loaded. He said before in an interview that he doesn't need the financial boost from tournaments anymore and hasn't for years because of how famous he is over in Japan. The reason he still comes to tournaments is because he enjoys them. I can't remember exactly how much he earns per year (there was a rough number floating around somewhere) but it's waaaaaaaay above the average job, purely because his name/face is attached to so many things.
@TrueUnderDawgGaming9 жыл бұрын
BieberSucksCock100 You're misinformed. Daigo works as a nurse because tournament players make very, very little. Even the highest paid FG players don't make enough to quit their day-job. They all play in tournaments for fun and some extra money. The most money that's ever been offered is the next Capcom Cup where they will give out $500,000. Before that, the most you could make was around $50,000. Which is barely above minimum wage if that's all you do. Plus, it usually ends up split between the finalists in the end. When he talked about his financial situation, he most likely meant the money he makes as a nurse. As for sponsors, you usually only get to have one at a time. Like Tiger Woods, for example, has Nike.
@BieberSucksCock1009 жыл бұрын
TrueUnderDawgGaming Daigo stopped working as a nurse years ago. The last he spoke of his job was in a 2010 interview that you can find somewhere here on youtube, he said he worked in welfare. Sankei biz (a very popular newspaper in Japan) mentioned him in an article about the growth of gaming as a profession in 2014, and stated that according to several people in the business he makes well over $150k a year. Other than his tournament cash, this includes money from his sponsor deals (I assume the bulk comes from this because he was and still is basically the face of madcatz gaming), his successful book, the many times Japanese arcadia magazine (and other magazines) have published articles and DVDs of his matches, and the numerous appearances he makes on Japanese television because he's both the first ever pro Japanese gamer and the most successful SF player of all time. As for his current occupation, I believe he writes articles about gaming, although I'm not 100% sure. He certainly doesn't do this as a job anymore though, and hasn't for a while. If you dig around you can probably find more, but he's definitely a pretty wealthy guy.
@TrueUnderDawgGaming9 жыл бұрын
BieberSucksCock100 Every article I just looked up states that he only made around $20,000 from sponsorships and tournaments last year. He may have a lot of sponsors, but they are for rather unpopular things. So, they probably don't pay that well. Honestly, sponsors use players to make money, not to make their players wealthy. Even I'm sponsored for my KZbin channel, but I make nothing compared to what my sponsors make. That's just the way it works. Plus, it's probably even worse in Japan because of how they marginalize a profit due to their economic system..
