With your fab capabilities, I would fab up a top mount turbo manifold with a t3 flange. There is way more space for bigger turbos up there (especially if you cut the hood...), and way more turbo options out there with a t3 flange. Also and the free-er flowing manifold will allow more power at less psi. Psi is actually a measure of backpressure in a way. More air volume and lower pressure is what you want to aim for, that is where the power is. Btw I had a 240 that I daily drove reliably for years on megasquirt with a t3/t4 hybrid turbo at around 325hp/350lb in yankee numbers. Stock bottom end, mildly ported head, Enem k13 cam, fabbed manifolds intake/exhaust. Fuel stuff to support.... Car got rear ended and shoved into the car in front while parked..writeoff........GRRRRRRR Currently building a 242 with 2.5l 16v redblock (penta aq-171c) with cams, rods and pistons, fueltech and a twin scroll turbo. I am hoping with a modern ecu, and divided twin scroll turbo will flatten the power curve, reduce lag some and get me more HP down low, the old car was laggy and peaky. I expect to be sweeping up transmission parts soon.......

You should get more out of a 16t,,,more like 280bhp with supporting mods. you need a cam

Definitely a tenner 😂 What cam do you have fitted? If it's still the standard 'T' cam you will find a bit more top end power by replacing it, it's very 'relaxed' to put it politely. A factory "A" or "V" cam would be a decent upgrade, or there are plenty of aftermarket options.

I think I have a turbo from a BMW 730d e38 somewere, it will need rebuilding but i thing it is bigger (Garrett gt2556v).

That cage looks more than capable of doing it’s job! Very smart, too. That was a great video - thanks. I’m really looking forward to seeing the drift event.

i've build myself a Corsa-A (nova) with a 2ltr 8V turbo got 215 bhp with 334nm . @0.9bar i used a Ca18det turbo (1.8 16v nissan) building boost @2000 the powerband stops @5500 rpm we thought because of floating valves 1 week later i found out it is caused by the camshaft not letting enough air in. (stock camshaft) another guy i know runs almost 300 bhp with the same camshaft, but he is at 1.4 bar forcing the air in

The way it was popping I would think it’s lean but it sounds great! Did you get a fuel map?

It's fuel cut on deceleration that causes popping, but changing a few settings it was much better, yes we have the map to tweak

236hp for just a 16t turbo is really good, a future turbo i would go with is the t3/t4 since its way cheaper and has a pretty quick spool time for a budget turbo. only thing you have to do is remove the "lip" that is sticking out on the original manifold and then the turbo is bolton. A great volvo cam would be A/K/H to an extent the V but not the vx3/M/T. aftermarket there are loads but most require lash caps which are meh. if you can find it in UK get a 531 head it has a higher flow and bigger valves from stock! let me know if you want me to look for cams or heads for you guys.

If a meteor is about to come down and destroy the earth can I have a ticket to jump In this, nothings caving that roof.! The extra weight is a great excuse for the bigger turbski too. Look forward to seeing you have some fun in it.

Glad to see you installed the harness bar correctly, below shoulder height. So many 'pro' KZbinrs building Sema cars get this wrong. Dangerous!

The red block engine is good for 300bhp on stock rods and 400-500 bhp with upgrades, a bigger turbo would see us to 300bhp which may be what we plan to do soon, thanks
