What you did at 6:58 reminded me of a local Feast in my City called „Sechseläuten“ where a giant snowman on top of a pile of Wood gets burned, and the time from lighting the fire until some explosives in the neck of the snowman go off is said to predict how good the weather in the summer will be

Ooo, sounds similar to something we have here in North Frisia, Germany. Instead of a Snowman its a Scarecrow stuffed hay, which hangs on a wodden pole above a burning pile of Wood, we call it "Biike", and it used to be an old tradition to lead the whalers back home after their long journeys
