This answers a recurring question I have about how to put to use a random Standard Taper joint vacuum take off piece... This is another use in the bank. So far: 1) Gas generator 2) Vacuum desiccator. Thanks! Now 1 question: Is the desiccant simply sitting in a dish at the bottom of the desiccator, and an acrylic screen is separating the watch glass and drying agent? Thanks!

@KittyClaw07then slowly open the desiccator tap. you should hear a hissing of the air escaping.

can you use vaseline or some other substance as a seal at 0:43?

Vaseline works best, but any good thick lubricant should as long as it not caustic.
