In this episode I show you how to tie a loop with the Matchman loop tyer/disgorger which gives you a much neater loop than in my previous video

This is the right way to use the loop tyer,pulling the big loop out of the tyer then tightening the knot,not pulling the knot hard out of the tyer. That creates a weak knot,a knot that is synched only from the side you are pulling. Great job!👍💪🤝

Suggest you moisten/wet the line prior to tying the loop, otherwise friction caused by the dry line will weaken the hook length.
@andreipetrescu603
@andreipetrescu603 5 ай бұрын
This guy knows what he s doing. Wetting the line is not critical when pulling slow,like he does. In fact ,it has been proven that wetting mono knots causes them to become too tight when you pull. You do more damage than good on such small knots,but for knots with many coils ,i agree that you gotta wet . There are some tests clips on here that confront knots with and withouth saliva,if you wanna check them. Cheers!

@@andreipetrescu603 dry line equals friction causes heat= weakens line strength. I fish canals 52 weeks a year and regularly use 0.05mm hook lengths in the winter months.

@@BLUEBOY77777 You are correct,but ,please,just check out those tests i was talking about. Have you put wet and dry knots against eachother? I am really, very curious! I will do a few tests of mine these days,wet vs dry knots,to see for myself. I myself,fish canals,for crucians but the lightest hooklenght i use is ,0.07,in the winter. Cheers!

@Bradsanglingadventures 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for getting in touch First of all there is no such thing as a silly question Yes the loop tyer basically ties a nice small figure 8 knot for people who find tying on with a loop that small a bit fiddly also every single one you tie is going to be exactly the same whereas tying by hand you will never get them all exactly the same Hope this helps Thanks Brad 👍🏻🎣

i have one of these.. but i dont use loop to loop anymore i kept losing EVERY bonus fish 4lb+ mainly the carp, the loop ALWAYS failed.. (and im meticulous wi my line if it dont look right its binned) anyway i use the much stronger 3 turn surgeon knot for hooklength and its fixed the prob.. NO crack offs with 5lb carp anymore... i am wondering if this tyer will be good for helping me tie the fiddlier 3 turn surgeon knot i know i am going to try see if it will.....

@@Bradsanglingadventures i am still using the drennan x-link hooklength stuff... and its ok now i use the surgeon knot, theres a bob nudd vid on here extolling the benefits.. i was a mental keen match fisher, but i just pleasure fish now with a match approach.. and we have not lost a fish due to hooklenght failing.. with 4lb .. 8lb... 10lb carp its made it so much more enjoyable for us.. ..

I have one of these tools but I'm curious why you wold use a loop to tie to your main line over a triple surgeons, double nail or other connecting knots? Does this provide some advantage over those knots?
