Thank you so much for this very helpful video. I just recently had a pessary put in and I had so many questions. I surely wish the PA that put mine in took the time that this woman, Trish, did. That is the gift of a person who will not rush and take time. She is a blessing to women. If more women had health professionals like her there wouldn't be so much fear and hesitation. Again, thank you so much.

Thank you for the open conversation & explanation. It’s hard to talk to anyone about and a huge bonus of the internet - we can inform ourselves. While we wait and wait and wait for an appointment with an obgyn - to only be told we need to see someone else and wait months more to see the next doctor. If men had this problem they would just fold into a ball, while we women, just keep going through the pain, dysfunction and embarrassment and you wouldn’t know we are incredible pain. I’m from California US. I am encouraged there is help on the horizon

I had a full hysterectomy a few years ago and it left me with a prolapse bladder, I have had different size rings inserted but they have all been a disappointment, some fall out the last one gave me so much pain because it was too big ,I'm so unhappy with the service from the medical service 😢🇬🇧

My doctor said for grade 1 prolapse I won’t get fit a pessary even though I want to! I’m hoping with kegels andd a pessary one day the prolapse stays up by itself. I read that is possible!

Can you have inter course with a small pessary in
@pelvicfloorproject Жыл бұрын
it all depends on the type of pessary. I would ask your care provider

I just got fitted for a pessary yesterday and was really looking forward to the appointment. The fitting was just using the standard size most woman use and then I was ask to try to take it in and out. I was told that if it was comfortable than it was a good fit. Well I noticed that the disk was sitting in my vaginal canal and not on my pubic bone so I asked the physician to come back and she said that it was normal and it was sitting as it should. She never asked me to void or even walk around. My prolapse is grade 2 cystocele and rectocyle and I could feel both prolapse and the ring in my vagina near the opening. Is this truly how it should fit? I thought it was supposed to sit on the pubic bone and holding up the prolapse. There are no other specialist in my area so I have no idea who to ask for a second opinion.

My gynecologist just fitted my first ring pessary (the one with support) in a vertical possition, she didn't move it into the normal horizontal possition. Is it possible to use a pessary in a vertical possition? Does ring pessaries sometime get fitted in the vertical possition? It doesn't seem normal as I can not find anything about being fitted vertically on-line. It has left me worried... It feels okay but will my menstruation blood stiil be able flow pass the pessary? She said I must just leave it, not remove at all, not even for cleaning and I will only see her for a physical examination again in 4 to 6 months. She will phone me after 4 to 6 weeks. She did not even show me how to insert it myself or how to remove it.

I'm wondering if she means that the "support" knob on the pessary is in the vertical position. If the entire pessary is in a vertical position, it will likely be uncomfortable or fall out. When in doubt, call the gyne office :)

women with prolapses I have heard, should not be running.
@pelvicfloorproject Жыл бұрын
That is the information women used to be given for many things "stop doing.....". It is kind of like saying anyone with knee pain shouldn't run. We don't necessarily do that, instead we look into why they have knee pain and try to build them back up to running without pain. Prolapse is similar :)
