Yzuei and Scrapman should try and land on a moving aircraft carrier using an extendable tail hook and arresting cables made of pipe pieces. (It is possible.)

The landings would be similar to those on the USS Gerald R. Ford. They have not done that yet.

Yzuei, the reason your plane would flip in flight is because there is no stabilization for pitching down as the tail was angled up

Suggestion the magnets need a distance sensor aiming at you so once you start the shut off instead of shoving the tail also

I think you should put skis on the glider, detach first then activate the tractor beams. Zero drag is kinda cheating the challenge.

I was kinda thinkin along those lines too... I wonder if three were random chances of the Plane briefly coming into contact with the surfaces of the Magnets during Launch imparting unpredictable placings and amounts of Friction interfering with Launch... upside down Skis on top of the Magnets mighta alleviated the issue. Ski Feet for the Glider is an option too if something to act like Brakes is combo'd with'em for Landing purposes as well, though this one is less likely cause Yzuei and ScrapMan and all the Gang are all allergic to Aircraft Landing Gear. :P

The issue is acceleration, a glider is designed for slow speeds and gradual acceleration. Try a delta wing and angle the magnets inward with hinges

The glider spins on launch because at some point the tail is getting pushed more than the nose. Either turn off the magnets as the glider passes (solve the root problem) or make the tail longer with more stabilization (overcome the effects). Adding weight to the nose was a variation of the latter solution with a side effect of moving the lift too far back. The glider runs out of energy before reaching the goal--as you've proved--because of drag. Making the glider heavier overall will give it more momentum. Then, if needed, add more lift without increasing the aerodynamic profile too much. depending on implementation, this could potentially give you more distance (compare throwing a rock vs throwing a wad of paper).

Would making it longer make it more of a stable take off? Like a bullet leaving a barrel. The longer the barrel the more accurate the bullet shoots.

The v-tail was screwing you up btw becuse the was no real vertical stab and horizontal stab which allowed it to spin weirdly when launching

Feel like you cheated, messing with drag. A slow feed into this, with one or two tractor beams into a denser array of them might have worked. A 0-100 approach was a bit much for a first attempt. Personally I would have placed the tractor beams less dense to more dense to handle the increase in speed a bit more gradually. Fun idea though!
