I've been using a 2X4 with a handle cut on one end. And I swing it like a hammer. I never thought of swinging it sideways like you did it. Nor did I put a rawhide cover on it. Thanks.

TRACING ---> TRACING my design onto the leather is killing me HELP Johan ! ! ! I'm dying over here. I have plenty of clear film but it forever goes to the Dogs when it gets wet and the ink finds it's way to the leather, an Artist I ain't.

I can see how that might be useful. The lighter weight could be a help to some. For beveling I use a 12 ounce maul. More than enough weight for that operation. I need your advice on figure bevelers. Do you think they are worth the investment? I would like to tool animals.

I like the idea looks like it’s easier and not as tiring. Did you glue The rawhide or shrink fit it?

I am going to try to fit it just by shrinking it around the wood and maybe place it up on the back with rawhide lace.

@@leatherworker yes , I’m gonna give that a try also. I had just saved up enough H.D.P.E. To make a maul and a mallet but I believe I’ll try your style first , it looks like it would be better for tooling.thanks and keep making vids I keep several of yours saved for some things I don’t use that often like lace work and stamping patterns you’ve made . Appreciate it
