Using an Oscilloscope: X10 Probes and Delayed Sweep

That's quite a nice older analog scope. Most of us probably have (or maybe will have) newer digital scopes, which make most (but not all) scope things easier. Most digital scopes come with either 10X probes or switchable 10X/1X probes and automatically scale the input appropriately. Lower-cost digital scopes require you to change a setting indicating which type of probe you're using. Higher-cost digital scopes will often automatically detect whether the connected probe is 1X or 10X. You will most likely stick with a 10X probe to take advantage of the higher input impedance it presents.
