I've been waiting to see if a review for these gouache paints would pop up!! Your piece turned out SO beautifully! I'd love to know how you think they compare to a more expensive brand? Thanks so much for sharing this lovely process with us. :3
@xrainey6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!! I haven't tried many expensive brands myself, I'm still pretty new to gouache. I have one tube of Da Vinci white gouache that has an amazing smooth texture and these hold up well in comparison right out of the tube (not so much after drying) The lightfastness would probably be much much better with more expensive brands.

Thanks for the review! About the paint cracking: you can add a drop or two of glycerine or honey to it and it will remain in a Smooth semi-moist state. I do it all the time with my watercolors

Love this video. You actually showed the creative process step by step. The music was not too distracting, it made me feel so calm. The music coupled with your editing style, made me feel delighted to watch you create art. Other artists simply omit important pieces of the creative process and speed the footage up so much so to where you feel anxious and can't really observe in peace. I can tell you filmed + edited this video strategically and with care. Great video, it was very insightful.

Lovely. I truly enjoy the Arteza gouaches. I have others (pricier), but these are very opaque to almost faint tints with water amount variations. Your skills with them in a rich format are quite amazing.

I would love to learn how to use gouache from you, OMG you are so good! It looks stunning! 💜😄 I have so much trouble understanding how painting works, and the fact that both paints and paper are so expensive doesn't help at all-every time I practice and it looks like a 4th grader did it (and that happens every time I practice :') ), I feel like I just waste the money I paid for the paper. It would be awesome if you could do a video like "Detailed watercolour painting process" , with a gouache painting-I just watched it 10 minutes ago and I feel like it helped me understand a little bit better how watercolour works and what techniques you have to use when you are trying to create the volume of cheeks and lips, the height of a nose bridge, etc. It's so different to me from working in pencil. T.T

Thank you!! I'll definitely work on making a gouache video in that format for you. That video did take quite a while to record/edit tho so if you're looking for something in the meantime I have a gouache tips video which shows some real time painting that you might find helpful. Thank you so much for watching
@samevans12896 жыл бұрын
xraineyx13 Haha, "artwork", you're so kind! 😅 Drawing is just a hobby, and I'm definitely not good at it, but I enjoy it, and I love watching artists that know what they're doing, that have a beautiful or intriguing style, and are creative. I already watched the video you suggested, and I'm looking forward for a kind-of live painting video with gouache. No rush, and I'm happy that you're considering it. :) I found that simply observing people draw or paint in real time helps a lot, even more so than them explaining it. :) Have a nice day!

Beautiful painting. 🙆 Thank you very much for the demo and review. 👌 The art community needs real reviews by artists so we can buy with confidence. I love this! Your color use was amazing with these and loved the swatches at the bottom. And it was nice to see the Arteza brand of these in use! I haven't used gouache much at all and have a Reeves set just waiting to be used, which is the main reason I haven't tried them out myself. But I have used a bunch of Arteza products and have mainly enjoyed them so far, so nice to see them grow and to have a decent consistency of their items so far!
