We used whatsapp to call back home and to text with our group onboard. We just made a text group, worked great. Airplane mode can save an entire paycheck lol. Great channel.

Very nice video! I would like to hear more about the travel router. I will be trying mine in a couple of weeks on my RC cruise and may report back.

@@ffmedic1638 Yes, please report back on how it works. I researched it but haven’t used it myself yet so I’m very interested to see how it goes for you.

7:17, using phone as hotspot. For iphone I don't believe the two work together but for at least some samsung you can hotspot to reshare the wifi connection you're connected to so that might be worth a check. Basically would work similar to the travel router granting access to multiple devices through one device connection

@@platinum2t6 Thank you for the tip! My whole family uses iPhones, but hopefully will help somebody with Samsung phones 😁

Are we allowed sim conected travel routers that conect to world cell towers or satellite
@CruisingKatАй бұрын
@@rdeh1678 Yes, but they will only work if connected to satellites, not cell towers when out in the ocean.

@CruisingKat as a hiker I have a satellite device I pay 30usd a month and I can text anyone while out in the bush , may be alot cheaper to keep in touch with friends plus it has a translation ability , maps , so, and my fav a map that family can see where I am at all times in the trails

@@rdeh1678 That’s amazing! I will need to look into that. What do you use?
