nice match. early on Normal paladin and your gengar both switched on the same turn. This is actually a good opportunity to get information. When paladin subbed out first, in normal mode, that meant he’s faster than gengar. the only way it could be faster is if it’s scarfed. Hope that small detail helps for future battles !

It would be neat to see some of the hyperoffensive mons be used in defensive ways. A lot of them get a ton of neat utility/stalling moves which they just have no good opportunities to use. So to stay in the opposite theme, what about giving us some hyperoffensive pokémon build in supportive ways and some stally/tanky pokemon with purely offensive stats and movepools?

Gen 1 was indeed a crazy time. I was a mad lad that then a Fire blasting, Hydro Pumping, Blizzarding, Thundering Gyarados. I had coverage for days. Mewtwo with Psychic Recover Fire Blast Blizzard. Dragonite with hyper beam, blizzard, fire blast, thunder. 10 year old me did not go to tournaments. But we won prime cup masterball so I was happy.

Gengar is a staple, top 10 mon in gen 3 OU oddly enough as a defensive mon (immune to toxic, spikes, blocks rapin spin, will o wisp, toxic, taunt, bolt beam) so pursuit tyranitar is SUPER common mon just to trap gengar. So one novel set people use is focus punch gengar lol OHKO tyranitar every time. Focus punch in gen 3 is one of my favorite mechanics in all pokemon

I love the thumbnails. Just one note: Gengar's thumb for Focus Punch is backwards, thumbs should be on the inside toward the body if the palm is down (that's how I remember it for when I do character drawings lol. It's just like sorting things alphabetically and saying the ABCs song in my head, I still do it 20+ years later).
