The reason why it doesn’t do much damage sometimes is because the explosion affects your legs so if your legs are safe, the creeper don’t do much damage. That’s why if you place a block in between yourself and a creeper it doesn’t do much damage.

The reason why the creepers don't do any damage sometimes is because the explosion needs to hit their feet to deal damage to them, otherwise damage dealt by the explosion is minimal or no existent.

ive done some testing and it seems that if youre behind a block, ANY block. even its only one block, you can take less than one heart of damage from a charged creeper. If you have direct sight of the creeper then itll do all of its damage. (btw charged creepers can kill full prot diamonds)

The golem kit is better because the creeper doesn’t always do the full damage and the creeper dies in like 3 hits while the golem always does 5 hearts at minimum and never dies

Part of the problem is that the duels gamemode is set to hard by default while the skywars gamemode is set to easy. Hypixel, please make your game more fair by normalizing the difficulty.

The explosion does the most damage if it hits the lower hitbox. If it hits the head, it does like no damage. That's why the damage is so inconsistent. To counter it just place a bunch of blocks

5:30 This is because explosions in Minecraft are calculated based on the position of their feet. If a player has a block between them and the explosion, they take way less damage. Same if they're a block lower than the explosion.

It's based on distance. If you're far enough away, you take no damage. If you're a few blocks away, it deals less than 150HP. Yes. 157HP or damage.

the reason it sometimes makes them lose no health is that your hurt hitbox is on your feet and if you're 1 block lower than the creeper you take no damage. it's the same with all explosions.

theres a trap you can do where you hide to the side of stairs and when people walk into the room, you close it in and place the creepers, for me it works 90% of the time and you can put bait traps to make people go in. I would really like you to try this strategy in a video, if you need help my ign is coxz :D
