thanks so much for showing this. Sometimes it's the simplest things that we never think of. I am thinking i need to collect some distress oxides now and that coloring book. and I have never tried to blend my acrylic paint pens. I will have to try that. Love what you are doing. I could watch you color all day!

🤯🤯🤯🤯 So much to say!!! I saw your video this morning and had to wait until my lunch time to watch it. The torture!!! Literally, just last night I put similar brushes in my Amazon cart!?!? And I thought to myself maybe I should try those inks? And then your video!?!? Are you reading my mind? I put the brushes in my cart to use with gel crayons. Do you think they would work with them? Lol yes im reading your mind !!!!! Haha, you know i do think they would work with gel crayons too, i haven’t tried that yet but definitely was planning too for like the small spaces. The distress oxides to the distress inks what gouache is to water color, kind of , like theres more white in them, they’re more opaque, and you can do some cool things with them with a water sprayer that you can’t do with the inks. They’re very cool and interesting, i like them for mixed media crafts too. Lol i know what you mean ! I just finally got to finish the gouache cactus video ! Had to wait all day lol ❤❤❤

Hello my dear !! The Coliro watercolors are mostly from a lovely website called Ink and Paper arts, but there are also some sets on amazon. The Finetec ones are also available on Blicks website. They are basically sister companys. Coliro and Finetec. As i was telling doodle, the difference between the oxides and the ink is that the oxides are a little more opaque , they have a little white in them , like gouache vs watercolor. Plus oxides can move when sprayed with water and inks do not, once on the page that is. So you can do really cool mixed media stuff with the oxides becasue they are different from inks. My pleasure ! Very informative! I have a few distress pads that I need to try again. I guess I thought they were bunk bc they aren't super juicy but seeing you have to go back and forth a lot makes me wonder if my expectations were wrong. I also really would like to see your tutorial on using the brush paint pens bc I got them and am not as jazzed about them as you are, but how you used them here is brilliant and looks so good!

Yay glad you liked them, so i’ve actually gotten some dry distress oxides in the past and had to return them, so ya they do dry out easily but try yours again. The one i was using in the video is considered a juicy one. Anyway the brush paint pens video is already filmed and it scheduled for Friday!

Also, do you just get your Coliro's from Amazon. I have 1 set. They are not cheap to collect. So I wondered if you had a better source? I haven't found any 12 sets. I want ALL the colors.

No my 12 pallete is not from Amazon, it was collected slowly over time, from a lovely website called paper and ink arts or something like that. They also have Finetec single pans on Blicks website. Coliro and Finetec are sister companys and both are wonderful quality. The only sets from Amazon that i got are the minis and the gold set

Hi Carol !! You know i have no idea why i bought more oxides over the inks? Lol, i think both are great they just have different looks. So no i dont have preference its just by chance i have more oxides, i think i like the more opaue look maybe ? Not sure lol !
