The 2023.4 (April) update adds a function particle_get_info(), which does pretty much what it says it does. It should solve most, if not all, of the problems regarding being able to access values inside a particle system through code that were presented in this video.

The particle editor is extremely nice. I like it. I never used particles before because of how much of a pain it was to set it up in code. My main complaint now for GM is there is currently no GUI layer. It is on roadmap but not sure when it will be added in.

Was hoping for something to be added that tells you how to create and remove a particle emitter with code while the game is running. Like press a button it is created and press another button and it is removed

Yo, the coordinates don't work. I don't actually know gml but I played around with it enough to where I made a small prototype game, but when I use my 2d gun in the game and try to do the particle stuff, it always spawns in the origin (0,0). Everything else works just fine
