Thank you so much Dennis! I was just about to give up on a current project that had to read large tiff files on a Google Map basemap but your video saves me big time. Thank you so so much!!

Great Dennis, I look forward to the opensource workflow you mentioned, might you consider keeping these youtube videos in a playlist say "Aerial Survey workflow's" it'll make the finding and watch a sequence much easier for us the viewers. Thx

Thanks Dennis for sharing. Yes, Photoscan is very expensive. I tried OpenDroneMap once, but I couldn't make to work right. The results were not good. So I'm looking forward for your next video covering that. Thanks again.

Yes. I'm familiar with that and so does Photoscan Pro. I just wanted to show a little bit of what goes on under the hood. This will be useful when I cover OpenDroneMap in an upcoming series. Thanks for the good words and hope you're doing well.

You're welcome and thanks for the good words. I'm definitely a fan of open source. If you are into software at all please feel free to get involved with some of our open source projects. Mainly DronePan and DroneBlocks :) They are on github if you want to take a look. github.com/dbaldwin/dronepan Take care.

Super duper as usual, Dennis. Would you mind telling us which PhotoScan edition you're using? The Pro edition costs too much for me, though. Really looking forward to your next video on Open Drone Map :)

Thanks for the good words. I have complimentary version of Photoscan Pro only for research purposes. I have a contract with Agisoft to not use it for commercial purposes. I will do the ODM video soon. Take care.
@RawLiquid-IN8 жыл бұрын
But how does one get into such a contract with them? I'm trying to do some things with offroad maps that would be at least questionable if I used google maps(license wise) and have been struggling to come up with a reasonable solution that doesn't have a huge pricetag. I am affiliated with a registered non profit group, and anything done would likely bear their name and be free of charge...

VERY useful. Thanks so much for sharing. Do you think there will ever be a way for users to upload these photo titles to Google maps permanently for others to see?
@dennisbaldwin8 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I've been looking for a way to contribute my maps to Google. There is the Open Aerial Map initiative that I've been following here: docs.openaerialmap.org/ I'll do some more research and share my findings. Please do the same.

Hi thanks for all the tutorials but how do you host the files to share online? You jump around a lot in your work flow videos would be nice if you had them in a series. Also photoscan pro can export to google tiles why don't you use that?
@dennisbaldwin7 жыл бұрын
Sorry...I know I'm a bit disorganized in my workflow. I will work on getting everything sorted out. After I export the geotiff and run it through gdal2tiles I just upload the files to my server. You can see them here: www.unmannedairlines.com/dev/tiger_stadium/ I do this instead of exporting out of Photoscan Pro just so I have control of the workflow. I just like knowing each step of the process and what's going on in between. Hope that makes sense.

Hi! I have a set of overlapping images in JPEG that my team captured using a DJI P4P. I've used ODM, Agisoft Metashape, and DJI Terra to process the images (from the raw JPEGS to TIFF to tiles) but I'm wondering if I can do the entire processing only in GDAL. Any help?
@dennisbaldwin2 жыл бұрын
I haven't had much luck stitching ortho imagery with the gdal tools. I might suggest looking into MapTiler (www.maptiler.com/) it's a product created by the developers of the GDAL tools. Maybe it will help you out. Good luck with your project.

If you go to this link: www.unmannedairlines.com/dev/tiger_stadium/ you can view source on the page and see how the radio buttons are implemented. Good luck and let us know if you run into any more problems.
