As long as the can says it can cover a poly based product, but a resin isn't needed :)

I used the prep and the stain did not cover the faded area. what am I doing wrong??? It wiped right off of the faded areas

The deglosser is used to remove any previous oils or waxes that may be one the piece. I would go ahead and use it in this instance.

As long as it has dried, the table is ready to go except for cleaners! We suggest allowing the paint to cure before cleaning the table with any chemicals.
