Love the push mower for collecting clippings for the compost. We have an old school rotary mower for the kid to learn with. Doesn’t quite pay attention enough for the push mower... yet.

When my kids were young I used reel type mower quite a bit. They could play while I got the yard cut, gotta keep em safe

I fed my chickens lawn clippings and 1 got impacted crop and ended up dying😢
@YoungbloodFamilyFarm3 ай бұрын
Crazy, how did you figure out cause of death? Sorry to hear this
@13flowb133 ай бұрын
@@YoungbloodFamilyFarm it got impacted and was big and I tried for a while massaging and holding upside down to try n get to throw it up and it never would go down and finally 1 day it had busted open and I had no choice but to try n get it emptied so I made stated pulling out wods of long grass all twisted up in knots and it just was too much of a rats nest to exit the crop I guess. It ended up dying that night though. Maybe it’s not as bad if you have short grass but i wouldn’t give it to them if your grass is real tall

So what I'm seeing for free chicken feed would be a mix of yard trimmings, algea, and eggshells (in place of oysters)
@YoungbloodFamilyFarm2 жыл бұрын
Free is a tough word, I’m sure I cannot blend every incredibly on the back of a feed bag, but chickens like grass, food scraps, and a whole mess of other “waste”, This feeding of the grass has been a win for us

@@YoungbloodFamilyFarm I won't claim 100% same nutrients but I do know algae double in size per 8hrs under ideal conditions. I've been watching algae farming videos since it's really nutrient rich. The input is airation and sunlight
