This is how youtube should be , experimentation, see what happens.. Not prepped, primed and filmed. The user is here to see the full process , not the polished end article... Big up John.. Keep em coming like this so everyone can see the exact process.. Nothing works every single time like they make you believe on youtube, experiment , sample, fool around , have fun .

Is this the same John Selway who released some tracks with BT back in the mid 90's? Those tracks I bought on vinyl 22-23 years ago? If so, cheers dude! Those records were staples in my dj sets back when I had hair and could stay awake past midnight.

Thanks for diving into this underrated inspiration source! May I ask how you would record the output of the Mono Sequencer to another midi track to pick cool patterns from?

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to found that video since I'm stucking now for like 3 weeks in this circle where I open ableton, make a quick and dirty 4/4 kick, make hats and after im loosing motivation because I don't rly know what to do and when I want to try something it doesn't come in the way I like it. I'm sure this will help me so much to get something nice done. Thaaaaanks!!!

Anything like a euclidean generator in Max? They can be pretty fun in modular.

Coldcut's "MidiVolve" Ableton pack has one. I'm a noob with it, so I can't speak for how it works yet (I'm still getting to grips with other functions before I start worrying about things like that) but it is in there. Coldcut themselves have put up some youtube tutorials/walkthroughs on the device. Here's the Euclidean generator clip. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3rXh3iQmcSFpdk

Don't use mono sequencer - it bugs out and doesn't save the patterns you made. Big waste of time and pain in the ass. Ableton shouldn't make broken plugins available for download
