After watchings Rat’s video I was expecting after Winsweep’s to be even more angry and hateful towards the character (not actually Winsweep if that was not obvious) after that I was expecting that Winsweep was going say something like “well that was one step, one more to go before the server is completely safe”. But the ending showing him feel finally something that was not joy, hate, anger and zero self reflection was oddly satisfying to the devastating moment in the end.

I watched this all, both rat's and winsweep's videos. It's crazy to see both sides of the story. Rat admits some of his mistakes, yet at the end it shows that he is just as human as everyone else, under the maniacal facade, he is vulnerable when someone who he is close to, gets hurt. Rat's intention all along was to get rid of mouthpiece, yet the inconveniences got the server to hate him at the start, but they did not understand his starting motives. Rat was a villain, yet he is just as human as everyone else. In the end, i see that Rat might be a villain, but he's not a monster. Winsweep on the other hand, he started a hero, yet got corrupted by greater power while trying to get rid of Rat. Winsweep all this time has been just, from my perspective, pushing nox further and further away by his actions. Winsweep has accepted the greater deal of getting someone banned, being focused on getting rid of rat, yet not realising that it could backfire. Winsweep took the chance. Took the deal for the power. He thinks that he's the victim, while he has became a villain. Rat was a villain with a good intent. Yet he has done actions that made everyone hate him. He was misunderstood, and now he has been hurt worse than before. He lost the only person who cared about him. He was pushed over the edge, and now he might as well show everyone how a real monster looks. He has nothing to loose in the end now. Winsweep was a hero, one who believed that Rat was manic, just like everyone else. Winsweep didn't understand Rat's intent behind everything, yet chose to target Rat, under the impression that Rat stood in the way of peace. Winsweep got corrupted by power, pushed his friends and teammates further than intended, yet not even realising that he might have lost the only support that he has had. He became a villain, under the impression that he was a victim. Yet my his acts, where does the line of being a villain cross into the one of being a monster?

It’s rather telling that it was Arathain who became a devil(yeah no, Rat couldn’t have predicted that), and Winsweep who commited the first true murder. Rat *still* hasn’t permakilled anyone in the entirety of the server, it was f*cking LUX the builder who originally decided to go for broke with Diansu and Winsweep - with Rat supporting his friend and still being hesitant. He has broken bonds of trust and done devious crimes, but has never done something irreversible, never seeked to conquer others, only revenge killed or killed by collateral, never the one to start the permadeaths, not even striking a deal with Mouthpiece until his friend’s life was on the line. For all his villainy, Rat was never a monster. An idiot who’s made countless mistakes sure, but never a monster standing on stolen land. Even before killing Lux, Winsweep on the other hand…

@@SunTheUser to be fair , him and lux did a lot of things themselves. the things rat did are still there and lux wont let him get punished for it. as far as i see they are just a less homocidal (given the people they have beef with put themselves against everyone wether intenionally or not) and less delusional. again , rat got away with a slap on the wrist from lux because they bonded after being forced to work together. diansu got obliterated , no second chances and no other options , he just got erased out of existence. did he really deserve that when the person lux is walking this path with hasnt owned up to their crimes and simply avoids them yet they got to get away free of charge. and i hope i dont hear about the "second choice" lux gave , given i doubt anyone would accept such conditions while rat gets to get away all that he did. as far as i see blake is just rat if he wasnt forced into an alliance with lux against his enemy.

Honestly even if it does trigger my "Um Actually" instincts, I do enjoy the commitment to being an unreliable narrator. Stuff like calling the Freebird an "attempt to kill everyone" when in reality it was a trap for Mouthpiece and everyone else was just collateral. Ironically I think both apply to each of them. Except rat didn't die a hero, instead was forced to live as villain regardless of his motives. In the end he sees himself as a monster finally understanding his own failures and faults. And blaming himself for an act that for once really wasn't his fault. And Blake? He died as a hero a long time ago. He simply continued to think he was one even after. Fueled by madness and self righteousness. He never cared for consequences to begin with. Even now he just feels empty. Only starting to realize his own misguided goal was pointless in the end. And did nothing but ruin his one friendship. And cripple one the last sources of good in the world. All for nothing. The only change being the original cause of all of it coming back. A stain on top of all of it, the one who gave the means to permanently kill others. And manipulated everyone from the start. All the death and destruction only for one person who really didn't deserve to come back at all. I feel like things will only get worse from here. But with both rats complete change and Blake being confronted by folly in the end. Things could change for the better. After all. What arathain said Is interesting. It seems like both might have a new target.

The best part of Blake's character it's just the almost cartoonish level of hypocrisy mixed with ego and power that he has that make him one of the most memorable characters, he by no chance is even close to being a hero but in his closed almost 1 dimensional view he's still the hero in shining armor ready to rescue the world from the big baddie by any means necessary while being just the horrible murderous maniac and being too dumb to realize otherwise, or maybe he just doesn't want to realize what he has becomed

@@Arxtxc he was the original one "in control" of the charter mod. so he likely had a deal with mouthpiece (the one who controls the items in the charter mod) where he was a sort of seal for mouthpiece and in return mouthpiece would not grant others access to charter. however upon arathain's death, the seal was broken and mouthpiece took over the corpse of arathain as a vessel.

That actually kinda shows their character differences. Rat is always known to try and fight fair. He never does water vs fire but always fire vs fire. He only takes things to far when theirs no other options left. While Winsweep/Blake is willing to do whatever nessesary no matter who he hurts, how many people he has to kill, or the consequences as long as he comes out victorious.

I know i commented once, but i want to say, i am looking forward to the premiere, seeing winsweep, understanding & comprehending his actions, his perspectives, his psychology, it will be interesting. Seeing rat in action was fascinating as i saw rat try to use his experiences, bad as they often were, to help others avoid repeating them. Seeing winsweep now will be interesting. He is motivated by his own desires, he is presented and viewed by a lot of the smp as evil, and so what of winsweep? He is selfish and destructive, mad and unstable. Mercy from what i have seen is not as present in him, and when he was offered the chance to change, we see a clear difference from rat. Rat tried to do good, and changed when given the chance, at the mascarade, winsweep when given the chance though does not change. Maybe in part due to ego and self righteousness, belief he is still a hero, or just, as i said before, desire. I hope to see it all now. Blind me, with your words, with your fictions and truths. Glimmer with brilliance, as in this act, you now take the stage. The world is watching, observing, listening, and will feel each word and action you make. And at the end of it all, how will we judge you, what will we make of you? May we all see

I think each of the main characters shown here (Rat, Lux, Winsweep, Nox, Diansu, Asai) are villains at some point or another they’re all hurt people, who hurt people. The only one that isn’t super malicious, but is very omnious, is Mouthpiece/Arathain. Though Arathain I feel will represent, and become the representation of the worst parts of the server and the people that play in it, fitting since he technically started all this.

At the end of Winsweep's neverend video, El talks to him next to a grave. That grave, has the SAME DESIGN and is in the SAME PLACE as Lux's grave in this one. El also says that if he kills Rat permanently he'll leave Blake's mind, so it is possible that when he killed Lux, exactly that happened, which would explain why he's suddenly so conflicted in the ending. Great video overall.

Rat and Winsweep are just this perfect duo of nemesis. The foolish antihero and the villian deeply rooted. But it all culminates in this mess of an ending. Winsweep seemingly didn't make the deal he thought he did. The mason is back in some capacity. Rat still has charter, and worse he's still alive. Lux is gone. And it took a toll on everyone involved. Nox lost faith in Winsweep but more has to deal with the despair. His sibling died for nothing. Rats still alive. But worse the killing blow was struck by his closest ally's charter. The very system of weaponry that already builds tension between him and blake. Too blinded by bloodlust after killing lux, blake fails to realize he failed his primary goal. And perhaps made it harder for himself. But additionally, even if he might not admit to it, lux dying will hurt him. Despite the betrayal lux was still a long time friend and ally before then. This could be amplified if Nox leaves him. And if Nox turns to rat? Well i think the remaining fibers of Blake's sanity are going to start snapping. Aside from a supposed ally who may have just gotten him in trouble with the second ghost of charter. Winsweep would be utterly alone. But what if thats a perpetual cycle? Blake fights rat, Blake's ally is horrified by his madness, they betray him and side with rat, blake gets a new ally, permanently kills rats ally, and the cycle starts again. But aside from nox and alliances. What about rat himself? Rat was really secluded. He had 2 allies he had to be strong for. Now he has one, he's an emotional reck, and lux dying was the first death to hurt him. And with that blake either defeated him or made him so much more of a problem. Rat would either be forced to lie down and only act on what charter tells him to do. Or plot to avenge lux and get his own revenge. Knowing the series and rat. I assume the latter. But the severity is variable. His only goals were protecting his allies, getting rid of blake, and destroying charter and the ghosts that make it. He could either be Blake's immortal snail or the server's eldritch horror. An unstoppable force with goal of ending blake, and or charter. Or perhaps this was the push rat needed to become what blake has accused him of forever. "Being the villian" maybe it is rat's turn to truly turn on the whole of the server and lay waist to the world that turned on him and ignored what he considers the main threat. But then again. What if rat does lay down? What if windsweep really is changed by lux's death? What if one but not the other? Does windsweep assassinate rat in a defenseless state? Do rat and blake swap roles, with rat going on a rampage and blake taking up the hero role to protect the server's lives? What if both happen, would they ever become allies? Man i love the story of this series. Slightly scripted improv with amazing characters. Can't wait to see the next one.

Wait. Rat made the last deal with the charter. Does that mean he is now in control of the entire Charter mod? Mouthpiece called the Mason weak as he tries to control the Charter. But Rat he just wants revenge meaning he might let the Charter control him. Wait holy sh*t. What if the charter new Rat was a better host than the Mason. So that's why mouthpiece did what they could to make Rat have to do a contract with the Charter. The Charter needs a host to do it's bidding. Rat is the perfect host. Rat is unpredictable, always seeking revenge, has barely anything to lose, and he's a skilled fighter.

@Arxtxc i don't know. Rat is under charter now but that sacrifice was also under mouthpeice's jurisdiction. I don't know how much influence he has over that. rat wanted charter gone. He made the whole airship just to destroy mouthpiece. Lux, nox, and plenty others did too. Charter is feared and they want the weapons destroyed. But you're right on rat's impulsive nature. Can he keep his word to lux? Can he resist charter or will turn into the world destroying prophecy that endlessly befell all previous luxes? But wait... lux is dead. The cycle is broken anyway. Lux can't pass down the anchor, and the world is still there. (Obviously that's just lore and gameplay doesn't follow but). For that cycle to end in that way feels wrong. I'm not sure this makes rat in control of charter. Seemingly he just swapped places with lux, being in service of mouthpiece. But maybe Rat is special. As for Arathain vs Rat. We've seen both form immense power. But... hang on Arathain Vs Rat. That's happening again. But now he's back and was the source of the new charter weapon for blake. Mouthpiece views Arathain as weak and rat as strong. Blake just "cheated" on Mouthpiece by using Arathain as his new charter source and Rat just entered the servitude of Mouthpiece... and rat is in a damaged state likely to do anything to avenge lux... What if this is a spirit war? Mouthpiece and Rat forming some sort of alliance. Arathain and Blake forming one. All parties have reasons to hate eachother. If thats a possibility, then maybe lux was right about calling charter "nuclear" a spirit war like this would be a textbook example of mutually assured destruction. But worse. If rat destroys blake and Arathain what does that mean for the server. The reverse as well. Would things spiral so far the world ends and they all need to start again? What do you think happens to those destroyed by charter? I don't think they're dead. The broken divinity teleported rat millions of blocks away. What if the full power divinity and other charter weapons displace players to another world?
