The reason this worked is that the density of the paper was enough to slow down the speed in which the cellulose burns. the more tightly together the roll is the less surface area can oxidize (burn) and thus the longer it takes for the plasma that makes flames to reach the unburned fuel. Not to mention the paper and the cardboard was probably treated as well. Fun Fact: This same premouse is used as a low-end firebox for a blizzard kit as you can use a toilet paper roll and a coffee can to light a small fire and it will burn for a few hours. But you want to get rid of the cardboard roll on the inside as the glues used to bind it when burned create a toxic fume that can be problematic if inhaled.

@@hubari7867 Aluminum melts at 600 Celsius and my soddering iron heats up to 750 Celsius. So it can melt aluminum but only a bit.

Easy simple "foundry"! Ooo! You guys should put slime in the freeze dryer! That could be interesting. See if you can rehydrate it after that.

You can. What you built is a forge. Al melts @ 1200 F. That's a cool to moderate forging temperature. Plenty hot enough to do some substantial blacksmithing.
