I designed a Noose with Multiple String Details, and would've had to do all the extrusions individually, but this allowed me to use the noose for a suicidal act. Thank you!

do you have an idea how to add a complex logo to an object and expand it? but not with having to redraw it etc and not just a textbased logo, starting with vector file...

Can you suppress instances of a pattern in inventor?
@AutodeskInventorGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hi James, as you're creating the pattern there is a tick box on screen above each instance and you can turn them off/on at this point. Alternatively, if you've already created the pattern - head to the browser (defaults on the left), expand the Pattern and you'll see each instance and you can right click -> suppress. Hope that helps!

any advice on how to add spheres(about 25 of them) along the outside of an oval/egg 3d shape? kind of like pattern an object along an oval dog collar...
@AutodeskInventorGuy4 жыл бұрын
You can pattern along a path, which can be a sketch that has the oval/egg shape in it. It can likely be a normal 2D sketch if it's uniform in one plane. Otherwise do a 3D sketch. Then you can pattern the spheres along that as the 'path'. Works very similar to the sweep tool, but instead of 'profile' and 'path' you have 'feature' and 'path'. Hope that makes sense!

Hi there, I have searched everywhere and watched dozens of videos. I am trying to cut a profile shape into the wall of a cylinder - say 4" copper tube. I have managed to create a 3D sketch of the profile I want to cut on the outer wall, but can not produce a 'cut' through the wall. We are still on Inventor 2016 - thank you in advance for any help.

Are these cut-out shapes normal to the surface or do they cut out perpendicular to the work plane?
@AutodeskInventorGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hey Zach, great question, it depends on how you created them. If you use Extrude then it'll perpendicular to the work plane. If you use Emboss then you are able to do it normal to the surface. 👍

I tried making a fish filter and every time I try using the extruder or hole function even with cut, it keeps 3d printing as if they are tubes. Help if ya can

Hi Jay Kay, are you saying it's adding material, rather than removing? If so are you sure you're on 'cut' not 'intersect'?

When I try to shell it, it wont work and just says it "Could not create new shell".
@AutodeskInventorGuy5 жыл бұрын
Have you already shelled it? Check the browser on the left. If it says 'new shell' it is likely because of this. Otherwise have you made sure your wall thickness is achievable with the size of model you have made?
