Flowers can be pressed instantly by putting between kitchen paper , and ironing with a dry iron. No need to wait weeks for your dried flowers!

I pressed pansies from my garden. Their velvety texture and the retention of their colors made a lovely page. As always, your page for today is wonderful.

I've added pressed leaves and so far they haven't lost its colour or crumbled into pieces. I used glue and washi tape to keep them in place.

The flowers that I have pressed in the past have all been drier and crunchier than yours. I always used a tiny bit of art glitter glue to stick them down. I have also laminated them. I really love your tip in. So so pretty hugs, treen 💕💕💕

I also have that problem. They become crunchy. My grandson will pick pretty flowers 💐 for me. When I try to use them in my project's. They're all crunchy 😢

I have used my Scotch laminator to laminate pressed leaves and flowers and they look beautiful for years. I have made bookmarks and added items to my journals using these laminated items. Your journal is lovely and the petal section turned out beautiful!

Like that they can be lifted and seen from behind. Lovely page, tfs. I cut out petals from a printed tissue to make a wild rose and glued a "falling" petal by one end so it also could be lifted.

I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but laminating petals & leaves is a good way keep them intact in a journal. If you’re putting them onto a page rather than something transparent like plastic, using an acid free wet glue to kind of decoupage them to the page can have the dual effect of adhering and preserving them.

Meg, when I put dried flowers in my journal I ensure I give the underside of the flower a good coat of mat gel as well as a generous coat on the journal page (important to do both surfaces). Set flower onto page. Now do a generous coat on the face up side of the flower. Be sure to use a soft brush so that you don’t tear the dried flower.😅

Thanks so much for the tip! I love the idea of coating both the flower and the page for extra security. I'll definitely try the matte gel with a soft brush next time. Do you find it affects the flower's colour at all?🌸

@@megjournals I’m thinking that it dulls the color, but that may be because I’m using Matte and not glossy? I will have to experiment a bit more!
