Thanks Teryl -- I, too have a Janome so your time in explaining the parts of the hopping foot, really helped! [I had gotten two packages and it took pieces from both]. Also thrilled to hear that I can use your rulers and other long arm rulers with this foot. Still love my Innova, but for smaller projects, I'm signed up for a few classes on quilting with my Janome. My husband & I so enjoyed meeting you and your husband many years ago & value your tools and expertise in the quilting industry.

This is perfect! I love it. I only have the darning foot and I thought I can do quilting with it so I started to watch some videos. Thanks for tell me that darning foot can not be used for quilting. I didn't know that. Great video.

Thank you for this video. I am just about to buy a new sewing machine and some accessories for FMQ. I found your video on how to use templates. Not that I am ready for that yet, but I have tried FMQ in the past and it's reassuring to see you get it wrong when you bobbled. I unpick a lot 🤣 Thank you for sharing.

(Sep 2021) Brilliant close-ups on this tutorial! Really enjoyed seeing how to do this on a domestic machine (especially as I am not likely to be able to afford a longarm machine in this lifetime ;-) Subscribing now, can't wait to view more of your videos.

I agree with you. I have a Janome 15000 and my problem is the stitch length ,
I'm recently just learning about this quilting foot, the quilting foot that I have goes up and down with the needle. I've never seen this foot that doesn't move, just the needle moves.

I just love learning from you Teryl! You are absolutely amazing!! I have some of your templates unfortunately I bought them when I didn't know what I was doing and got 1/2 and they are too big for my Brother but I kept them in Hope's that i will maybe get a long arm someday or get a sewing machine that they will work on! 💜💜

Thankyou, Teryl, for a very informative video. I have just bought 6 templates and the tool you used and, looking at them, I was totally confused! I wasn't even sure whether to have the feed dogs down, or not! I am useless at free motion quilting - not sure if I will ever get it - so this is the next best thing to enable me to quilt my own projects. I wonder if you could help me with something else, please. I have just used a method of putting the quilt sandwich together using pool noodles - have you ever used this method? It saves a lot bending and kneeling on the floor! What I am unsure about is whether to take the noodles out before I start quilting, as I just don't see how I can quilt a large quilt with them in. Trouble is they are pinned into the noodle on the inside of the roll! I'd be grateful for any advice you can give me and thanks again.

I am sure I am responding to late to be of any use. I am not familiar with pool noodles. I hope you figured it out by now.

What do you have in front of your sewing machine to support more of the fabric? Does it have it's own table?
@sandrinou13294 ай бұрын
Even if I attache fabric before quilting, the fabric wrinkles. I don't know why. Could you tell me what happend ?

Im having a problem finding the right attachment for my brother machine. I bought one, but it sits too close to the fabric.

I disagree with your comment on not needing a opening in the template when using a domestic machine. Having an opening allows you to use swap out a template to another shape template without having to break thread. Also I much prefer to using templates that have the puzzle piece to fill in the gap of the opening. Janome have a set of template rules especially for domestic machines, they were designed by Westalee for Janome. You also kept referring to your ruler foot as a hopping foot which it is not. This is a very good explanation of the ruler foot for Janome sewing machines. janome.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/March-2019-Janome-Ruler-Work-Foot.pdf

On your sewing machine, do you have a threader fix on your machine? I have one and since I change my needle, I am not able to threading my needle. I can’t ask the machine dealer cuz with the COVID-19, in Quebec, every store are closed! Can you tell me if it’s possible that the kind and size of the needle hole is too small for the threader? Please, help.
