4:00. Almost always better to build new production than upgrade. Mainly due to the fact that it pays itself off sooner, as well as the fact that it stops producing while upgrading

Well a very strong caveat to that is it kind of depends on which mods you're also playing with. If you're playing with the infinite upgrades, it's still cheaper to get the new production, but you can eventually upgrade things to give you 2, 3, 20 times what one new mine/propeller/windmill/smokestack will give you in return. Which makes it that much more depressing when it gets blown up.... But this (this original comment I'm replying to) is the correct mentality to have without production aiding mods like infinite upgrades, modded metal and power producers and storage, or converters.

Even though yall "figured it out" im not going to delete my comment bc even thought its pointless now, it will still help with the video's interactions Its more efficient to build new production, compared to upgrading, bc the device shuts off while its upgrading. So not only do you pay for the upgrade, you're also losing out on the resources it would have made in that time.

Just to point out, this is why US Aircraft Carriers don't sail alone, EVER. If they're ever solo, it's either in harbor or something has gone absolutely wrong. But yeah, I know this isn't realistic, but if in WWII Japanese and US or even today hypothetically a US and Chinese aircraft carrier were to clash, it'd be kind of like this. A long slugfest with both leaving with bloody noses and no clear winner. Like even as an American, I recognize that carrier power isn't the end all/be all. When you have them just by themselves, they're kind of awkward. So if US and Chinese carriers alone clashed, it'd be a bit of a mess for everyone. If US and Chinese carrier escorts met, that'd be a bit of a different story. I'd have to give it to the US, mainly because of their default blue water capability and the fact that attack subs are usually included in the fleet. Hypersonic missiles aside, the US might not win in such a hypothetical, but they certainly wouldn't lose. Like losing a carrier would be a loss, but you can bet that the submarines in the escort would make sure that the Chinese ships didn't make it home either. So it's probably best to keep it all as a thought experiment based on current known facts and speculate rather than see it done. But my ultimate point is this is what happens when carriers fight each other. Either one sinks the other with enough bombs and/or air launched torpedoes or both sail away from it bruised and battered and both parties involved with a massive repair bill on their hands.

For the ships you need high seas dlc and I'm not sure about the controllable planed but stock planes are high seas aswell
