He takes you through his compact yet highly efficient 5.1 home setup, discussing his transition to a different process and environment. Alan explains how he has managed to continue achieving world-class results on major film and game scores with his new simplified rig. He refers to a number of projects undertaken since early 2020 and shares the ways in which he has harnessed technology to get the job done consistently and without compromise. He's using the reverb of a literal physical space to make space. Water + water = water. It all checks out.

Boy, did this ever bring back memories of my old music teacher, Maestro Sean Diebler, at University of the Arts, Philadelphia! He was always talking about Vienna and Budapest Hungary, which just so happens to be my heritage, Áustria/Hungarian! Hmmm!

Moving to Budapest soon as a pro composer. Spent 4 years learning the lingo and 3 learning audio engineering but I only need wifi. I learnt orchestration the old fashioned way and trained in LA with metronome in the early noughties. How times have changed.

One of the better examples of reverb and space. My favorite verb is convolution but a CPU hog. Have to stay with the capital verb.

Widening and moving the violins around must cause a lot of phase issues.

natural phase or linear phase plugins can fix that in the intro or end of the chain.
