crazy money for this. I made my own with a Bluetooth to serial adaptor for a tiny fraction of the price. works perfect too

@centauri2010 - Yes, you still need to align the hand controller. If you don't, the coordinates that it sends to our app will be meaningless.

LOL, "call Meade and order the upgraded 497 hand controller". Maybe for $300 off eBay for a used one if you are lucky. They would probably make more money selling Autostar compatible hand controllers.

I bought an Meade ETX90 in a jumble sale with the autostar #494 without a connector, can I connect the stella wifi directly in ETX90 without an autostar #497? Thank in advance I didn't find a market place to delivery an compatible autostar 497 to my country.

Hi, This is just a controller for the telescope, right? It will not allign it? I mean, you still need to do the Alignment manually (using Autostar) for an ETX model? Your video should explain this more clearly. Thanks,

I don't get it. Why control the telescope remotely?.You still need to set the focus manually and there is no camera wifi control or image download?. I can remotely control my canon camera functions using canon camera connect, but what we really want is just one app that does it all, moves scope , controls camera and takes pix/downloads them!...

Thanks for the video, but it didn't work for me : "SkySafari" Plus can make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure it is connected and powered on. Also check that your scope type is correct... That's the answer of my SkyWatcher Muntifunction AltAz GoTo mount. In Sky Safari, the mount is detected as a "SkyWatcher SynScan", but as says the error message : after detection, no response...
