First. You make lure fishing look easy. I really struggle with it.

This video was filmed over 1x afternoon and 1x morning session. We made about a gazillion casts each. Sometimes you just have to keep going.

@@LandFishTV some things I've learned over the past 23 years of lure fishing for flatties and big lizards 1 - use shallow running hard bodies or bent minnows 2 - fish the shallow flats close to deep water waist deep or less is ideal...sand flats with knee deep water that drain to bare sand are awesome 3 - get out of the boat and wade this is key 4 - fan cast your butt off i.e. make sure your casts are within 1m of the last and cover every inch of your target area 5 - try not to move fast be patient cover all the ground around you flathead don't move around when feeding in the shallows and sometime you need to get right in front of their strike zone sometimes mulitple casts will get the reaction. 6 - look for the congregating bait on the flats and edges 7 - do recon work on the flats looking for lays or spooks walk around and find where they feed a day spent doing recon will tell you a lot about an area....when I target a new area I fish fast and zig zag around looking for lays or spooking fish....don't ever assumes to shallow big fish will lay up in ankle deep water....look for sting rays if there are lots of rays you can be sure big crocs are around....flathead love to lay in sting ray holes in super shallow water...I recommend the 95 mm slim twitchers worked with big rod rips and pauses for reaction strikes....

haha, funny commentary and great location. I was there 3 weeks ago, its really shallow from the bank and weedy and the boat is just the way to go there.

Hey Lincoln, odd one here but ill give it a punt. You got some travel rods a few years back from a forum the “Pflueger 4 in 1 trion transcendent rods” I was wondering if you still had them? I can’t find them anywhere. Like I said its an odd comment but had to give it a crack for the old man Cheers
@LandFishTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. I still have them , broke one of the tips on one though. (Hit the fan on the ceiling)
@ynots06252 жыл бұрын
@@LandFishTV Oh dear 😂 thats heartbreaking. Do you rate them or should I get the old man a crucis? Apparently that trion is one of the best sp and topwater rods ever made. Thanks for the reply💪🏾

What was Ryan doing at the back of the boat when you had that first flatty? Was he flicking his 4 inch worm? Great fun, thanks and stay safe.

I think he was using the 2.5" worm 🤣🤣🤣

Great Vlog mate, shame the big girls weren’t firing . Still some good action though 👍👊 I noticed you both had rubber sleeves on your rod butt , what are they?
