Great trip around the oscillators. I watched your other video taking us around all the controls. Excellent. Can't wait for your deep dive of the new v5.0!

Thank you for the video. Word about the noise: I think you're short-selling the noise generators a bit. Super important for synthesizing things like flutes or drums - and something original Microfreak was lacking. I wish more of the oscillators had noise as a parameter! :)

Noise is also pretty useful as extra sound layer on more aggressive effects. Can also be utilized for brass sounds

This is actually a genuine godsend since Arturia just casually skips over alot of detail in the official manual Especially mentioning the "2 direction" path of the og plaits models

What a great content, very good guide. You have my sub, for sure will certainly watch other vids, especially with Ableton, cause for now MicroFreak is my only physical synth. Really thanks for what you do 🤩

Hi! Awesome video! Me and my wife learnt a ton! What is that signall analyzer that you used in the video? Thanks!

What oscilloscope is that? All the ones I have move too much to be able to tell most the time. I know that's a note or phase thing but this one seems far better.

Also would like to know this! Used Studio Tools by Max for Cats, but it's not the same.

@@adrianclopan7892 it’s Bitwig default one. Thought I don’t which daw your are using but I had the same issue then you before on bitwig ones. Must tweak parameters to have something fine

Thank you for the great content! Just one question, how do you visualise the sound?

Not sure it's what he's using but I use the Signalizer VST. If it's not what he's using, it does look very similar in the right configuration. It was a bit confusing to me at first but @Composing Gloves has a great run through of it in their Comparing 30 Oscilloscopes video kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIPHhpWpeNxrepo

Amazing video as always! Only note I have is that you keep mispronouncing "plaits".

thanks, i have no idea. Did some research, and it turns out everyone calls it differently.

@@XNBeatsMusic In English it's pronounced "platts", there's no other recognised pronunciation as far as I'm aware (compare how plaid is pronounced plad). Of course I'm not counting other languages because the video is in English.

@@eyeball226 yes I was a bit confused and used what people use the most around the web. Some things I just need to do them and move forward, If it stop to triple check everything is not super important for the guide it would take me ages to record it. So sometimes I just write the script and move forward. You see two hours, but it took me 5 to record, and 2 days to edit.

@@eyeball226 Bait? That isn't pronounced as bat. (or batt). On the other hand we have plate but there is also bate... Although English is not my native language, there seems to be inconsistences with the spelling in many cases. Just look at how many variations of "Moog there seems to be when it comes to how English people pronounciate it. Much easier with my native language, Swedish, when it comes to vowels. They mostly are pronounced the way they look. If an "a" is not like in "car" we put some dots over it. "Care" would have been "kär" (why the extra "e" at the end by the way. Totally unnecessary. It's pronunced as with a "k", "ä" (the special a sound) and just an "R"!) (These are just hypothetical examples about how English words could have been spelt if using Swedish spelling logic. Not actual Swedish words, of course) "bait"? That's an "e" plus a "j" sound. Should be "bejt" if Swedish style of logical spelling. "Bird", "a" (indefinite article. LIke in "a bird". Both different letters for the same sound. We have "ö" for that sound. "Börd" would be the logic. Oh, wait, you can even pronounce a "U" with the same sound like "murder", "Burden"... But the "U" in "much" is a short "A" again. Absolutely insane lack of logic in the spelling! And then there are all these kind of "umlauts", like "ei", "ie", "ou" etc.. Take the word "Pie" for example! In Swedish it is the absolutely logical "Paj". The sounds are P+A+J. Simple! Then you have "Pi" aka 3.14.... Pronounced the same. In Swedish it is pronounced logically the same as when you take a "pee" and spellt "Pi"! "i" used like in the word "irregular". One vowel, one type of use. And what's up with the football team "Middlesbrough "? A total mess at the end of the word. Like "burr ooh!"😅

its a great video but the noise is unbearable. I put the volume down to where i could barely hear u speaking and i still got a headache after watching for a while, and i couldn't really hear u clearly cause i had to keep the volume down.... the Master volume is almost 3 quarters up on the micofreak, i think thats too much for an instructional video...
