Drop spreader distributes contents evenly and consistently. The distribution control does not shut off fully so there is some leakage of product when filling the hopper and when it is waiting to be driven off.
The aerator tines are very sharp but it is hard to see if they are making much impression on the earth. The unit was not 'hopping' so I guess they are getting some penetration even when the hopper is empty. The idea of combining aeration and distribution of materials is, on the face of it, a good one but I think I need a year of use to see if it really will replace my separate aerator with its two heavy concrete blocks ensuring good ground penetration of the tines.
