I remember a bunch of people throwing a fit on using the Asap on the anchor side instead of on the load side but its looks perfectly fine here and also after look at the manual I do believe it is able to be used this way when the anchor side is doing the lowering. I know in Europe its popular to put the Asap into yourself for self belay.
