Short and helpful. Many program tutorials are 10 or more minutes, even for simple tasks, so thank you very much!! I was surprised you could be so clear in such a short time.

WHAT HE'S SAYING ON 0:54 I'M NOT GETTING IT
@alanaflynn88786 жыл бұрын
I’m replying to an old comment, but someone else at this video probably doesn’t get it either. I'll do my best to explain and break every part down, just in case, and there's a quick summary paragraph at the end. Sorry if anything's still confusing! He's saying there's this action called "auto-fill." At 0:54 he auto-fills the next two rows by clicking a small black square in the bottom right corner of the cell's thick outline. You get the thick outline by clicking on a cell because the thick outline means the cell is selected. Auto-fill copies a formula from one box into other boxes, just by clicking and dragging. So, the first box he's working with, the £20.00 box, doesn't just say "£20.00" for its full information. Its full information is "=E10*F6," which you can see him make and explain at 0:14 and 0:25. The "=E10*F6" means "take the info from cell E10 and multiply it by the info in cell F6." So, doing auto-fill for the next two rows down makes the formula for the next two rows "=E11*F7" and "=E12*F8". The numbers automatically change to fit with information of the following rows. The dollar sign, what this video is about, makes it so those numbers -- or letters, depending on how you're using auto-fill or other actions -- don't change. To sum up, you use auto-fill by selecting a cell, then clicking and dragging a small box in the bottom right corner of the selected cell's outline. Auto-fill automatically puts the original cell's info in the other cells you dragged into.
