Hello, thanks for this new video, as always interesting examples well explained and easy to follow... Yes, extensions, as well as path effects, seem a wide subject, and I'm never really sure how to get the best of them.

There are a lot of commonly used things like Path Effects that most don't use or may not even know about. So after my next video, I may do a more in depth look at PE. They are non-destructive so I would say play around with them to learn what they all do...or just wait for my video lol

Of course I can help with that. I am currently going to start creating shorts for these types of little hints. However, if you do not wish to wait, you can find the options in the Interface tab found in the Preferences menu. I am very happy that the video helped you. The Generate From Path section will only work with Paths and when you create text, it starts as a text object (You can see what the selection is in the information bar at the bottom of the window). I assume from your message that is the problem you had?
