Using The Hurricane Bowl Sanding Kit To Easily Sand A Bowl - The Woodturning Store

In this video Steve is using the Hurricane Bowl Sanding Kit and Hurricane Sanding Discs to show how easily you can sand a bowl on a lathe. This technique will give you a swirl free finish and can be used on wood and acrylic projects.
The Hurricane Bowl Sanding Kit comes with 4 attachments: 2x 2" sanding pads (one soft, one hard); 2 x 3" sanding pads (one soft, one hard) to accommodate variety of projects. The sanding pads will fit any 2" or 3" hook and loop sanding discs so you can easily change between different grits. The handle has soft foam for comfort and good grip so you can sand your project without worry. Try it for yourself!

Seems like this would be advantages for lathes that aren't reversible.

It will work for both directions, but you won't need to sand in reverse with this type of sander.
