Jose, great move! You might be a little rusty with schoolwork, but you will very soon learn that the basic skills you honed in the Navy will give you a powerful boost. I'm thinking of things like maturity, punctuality, time management, self-confidence, responsibility, endurance, and willingness to knuckle down when required. Go for all A's! You will be a shoe-in for the big-name school of your choice - which might change during the next two years. I think excellent, competitive colleges like very sharp veterans - your being on the G.I. Bill, they won't have to pay you big bucks in scholarships to recruit you. You will be in the driver's seat if you keep your grades up.

Jose, just happened to come across your channel, it is great! You are an inspiration to all young people of how to do things in life the right way. I too am a Navy vet, except I was stationed in the god awful place of Norfolk on a destroyer, ugh! I also chose the wrong rate, I was an HT then a DC. Went to college when I got out and started screwing up. Eventually straightened my life out. I look forward to future videos of yours to see how you are doing. Good luck shipmate.

i went to school (AA, 2 years) while still in the military at 75% discount. THEN, I used my GI Bill once I got out to finish with a my Masters. I currently do nothing I went to school for. :) after 9/11, the aviation industry fell, so I changed careers. I recommend studying anything that deals with money, marketing, banking, stocks, hedge funding etc...lol. otherwise, goto the best partying school and have a blast. meet lots of rich kids parents and become best friends, especially if they work for companies like Goldman Sachs. Its alot about who you know...great minds with big capital.

You can actually get GI Bill to pay for both bachelors & masters. Please don’t use it on community college. It’s a total waste because every state has free community college for veterans. Just use your GI Bill for when you transfer to an actual university. Do your two years there. You’ll have 2 years left of your GI Bill which you can use on your Masters. This is what I did. Just please don’t use your GI Bill for community college!!!

I'm gonna be real nice bud, b/c you're probably just a cook or something, but q good thing to put in the video would maybe be what the title says, as it indicates what the contents should be, oh and if you're gonna bs about what you had for breakfast maybe just don't do it im lieu of the introduction as it's function is to prepare us for the part where you would've told us what you put in the title. Besides that whole video great work keep it up man

Miguel, he earned those educational benefits through his service in the U.S. armed forces. He doesn't owe anybody anything more - except to keep the V.A. informed of his address of where to send checks and where he is enrolled in school. Another benefit he will receive, say four years from now, when he seeks employment after college: prospective employers will note his military service, which will give him a big leg up compared to others.

Hey Jose, I am interested in joining the Navy and I wanted to get more info on vacations in the Navy. How did you schedule your vacations during service?

Another question, after completing my service in active duty, say 4 years, I will be able to go back as a civilian and use up my VA benefits. Could you confirm this? Thank you
@TravelingwithJose
@TravelingwithJose 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Will, you are given 2.5 days per month to use them when you have accumulated at least a weeks worth. Taking more than 30 days if you have not accumulated them is really hard to do. You have no days off if you do not work but there are many holidays and random days off when the chain of command feels like giving them to you. I would always take a break after deployments. Also, it is not worth taking more than 30 days off while stationed overseas because they take away your overseas pay and you don’t want that to happen.
@TravelingwithJose
@TravelingwithJose 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you serve for more that 90 days and get out with an honorable discharge you will be able to use your VA benefits. I am now using them to go to school.

In any and every decision you make in life, no matter what it is make sure it aligns with God and not with the world. God is way bigger than anybody and is far more powerful so don’t get so caught up on trying to please “men” and do things for them, but rather do things for Jesus Christ our Lord and savior. Remember we as humans must live through God. Each of us has a purpose in life that needs to be accomplished. Always keep your focus on the Lord and not worldly things. Worldly things hold no true value.❤️ Colossians 3:23 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”❤️
