Finally, a review about photos on the zv 1f. You absolutely right,there is nobody doing vids on the photography side of this cam…I already like the video quality, it’s good enough for me to shoot cinematic video with ,but been wondering about how the photos look as I also do photography I normally use the canon t6 but wanted something more compact…getting mines today. I really like your honesty about your reviews such as the A7II and the ZV1F. I'm a little sad the zv1f doesn't even have flash like a old digicam. I'm also thinking of skipping the A7II because I need autofocus for shooting sports and being fast and reliable for weddings. I'm thinking the A6400 would be my middle ground. Yeah I'm stuck between this camera. The ZV-1. The newer RX-100. Or go all out and get either the Panasonic LX100 ii or The Ricoh GR III. I've got a a Nikon Z5 with 24-200mm lens and just got a Fujifilm GFX 50s ii. With 50mm 3.5.. I just need something I can carry around with me instead all this other gear. Great video tho. Not a lot of channels focused on the photography aspect of this camera.

If it had a bit narrower field of view(28-40mm) I'd be interested. Should do raws, that should be a simple software change and not cost anything. I do mainly photos. Is it able to adjust apurture, shutter speed and iso?

I have the zv1 and I love it for shooting street photography in Vancouver BC. ZV1 can shoot Raw which I love. Also for vlogging it’s so great. If you know simple cinematography tricks you can shoot quite nice video.

The only photos I am taking are group selfies, I find it really frustrating that selfie camera on smartphones are of smaller matrix and of a worse quality, so I needed something with a selfie display and a descent sensor matrix.I believe this camera is the best for such photos as it has a wide angle and a 1-inch sensor matrix. I barely find this camera useful for any other type photos since it is too wide and photos have this fish eye effect. But I am happy since I only take the group selfie photos and this is what this camera is for.

My question is from a former Photographer and Videographer.... I have a zv1f too for fun and vlogging.... the pictures sucked on this camera, buttt videos are actually good, and it honestly I could tell that for one, you didn't use this camera enought, second, you didn't change the settings.... all camera suck when they are out of the box. The zv1f out of the box is going to have bad quality settings. You have to change those settings, change the video to 4k, change the frame rate to either 25 or 30.... those two things there will make the biggest difference for video.... again, images suck ass on this camera

Good review of a budget priced camera. Keep in mind that this camera has no built-in flash and no ability to add an external flash, this maybe important if you take photos in dim light. Also get 2-3 spare batteries, because this kind of battery capacity is limited due to it;s small physical size.

Hi Zony Zv-1 owner here! This is incorrect. You can absolutely add an external flash. I have a few and it works just fine. Amazon has a lot of great options as well as replacement batteries to counter the short battery life. Hopes this helps ☺️

i really fw w the transparency and realness of this review. couple questions ... do you think for a first camera it's a good fit?? lol and this may be a dumb question but the video and pics of the girl in the denim outfit were all captured on the zv1f right? last question since i'm tardy but here we are 10 months later did you keep it and how does it hold up? The fact that it can't shoot photographs in RAW has an impact on high-dynamic range *dynamic* (moving) subjects. But if your subject is a stationary object (landscape, architecture, stills or a person posing in a stationary way) and therefore nothing moves in the image (no leafs moving in the background and so on) you can still create high-dynamic range images with 16 bit dynamic range. Put the camera on a tripod and shoot at least three (better 5) photos with differing shutter speeds: - 3 EV, correct exposure, + 3 EV. Keep aperture, ISO and white balance at fixed settings. Using your 3 or 5 JPEGs in order to *create a high dynamic range 16 bit image in postprocessing* You can then develop your 16 bit image in order to create a 8 bit or 10 bit high dynamic range image with the black and light levels of your choice. The dynamic range will be better than if only one JPEG had been shot. However, you will get ghosts if there is movement in some of your bracket photographs taken.

I wouldn't say the photos are bad lol. You just have to make sure the lighting is decent. But if you're going to spend the money, you might as well spend the extra 100 or 200 dollars to get something with better photo and video quality. DON'T SETTLE !
