I find it even useful if you bind range finding button with squad marker. It also mixes well with crew voice line telling you much accurate the range before your basic range finder finished calculation.

I always make sure to use this when with a squad mate if I get one, I mostly play solo and sometimes you wont get a squad mate but a lot of my squad mates are conpletely clueless and makes me question whether I should keep using it or not.

well I rarely use it for the actual random squadmates, mostly it's for my own utility as described in the video

I believe you can disable random squadmates in the options menu

It's been a mixed bag for me. Sometimes I get a random squadmate that understands that yellow Chevron on the screen and will actually work with me despite no direct communication and other times I get the random that ignores the Tiger I just pinged for him to warn him he's about to run right into his sight line then dies.

awesome for precise artillery calls and way more accurate than normal team marks i bind mine to my shoot/fire buttons so my mate sees where my shells go

If they add randomness to the position, the randomness should only be for when press squad mark as a ground vehicle

Honestly a good chunk of randoms you meet won't understand it or even know it exists, I've had several randoms ask me what the yellow Chevron was and it later led to some great teamwork

I give you 1 more tips, use squad marker for rangefinder, especially when you are on lower rank Example : if you spot enemy from long range and not sure the length use squad marker, open your map and look at bottom right there is range per-square in there. Mark enemy - open your map and see how much square is your mark - adjust gun range and shot IM SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH, I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND 😂

Hey Ryan. I've never had to join a squad to use the Squad Ping utility. I also have it set to my Range Finder key (5... R... Basically right next to each other, so it works). Typically, if I'm ranging a target it's mostly because a target is either there, or I know it will be there. It is also super scuffed because when playing the Strv 103 tanks (tactical doorstops), if I am behind some destructible wooden structures, I will range them with the commander's binoculars and then align the crosshairs on that chevron (literally in the middle of the wall of some poor unsuspecting tool shed, no visual LOS on the target), and let one fly; directly nailing and completely destroying/cripple their mobility in some fashion. It's literally cheating, but hey... just playing the game as Gaijin developed it. :^)

I use the squad target with rangefinder it help when i see ping in the Map of the enemy scouted to see if i'm good and will touch him
