So glad to see this working now. When my Wireless PRO setup initially arrived, I wasn't able to sync with my TC-1s, but really happy to see RODE issued a firmware update to make it work so quickly!

But after you have Jam synced can you then put the Rode back into audio recording mode and send a channel to the receiver and still have time code on the Rode's ?

Basically, yes. Actually, you can always create internal recordings on your RØDE Wireless PRO transmitters, no matter what timecode mode you're in. The timecode modes only affect the signal which comes out of the reciever. Similarly, if you have timecode turned on, the recievers will always record audio AND timecode.

Is there a way to monitor the audio in TC-5? I worry changing to another TC mode might impact the TC to jam sync the others?

Hey there @Frimpeezzy. The idea is that if your camera supports timecode, you could use timecode mode 5 to "jamsync" your camera to your Wireless PRO's timecode, and then you could turn your Wireless PRO's routing mode back to merged/split. That way, you would be recording scratch audio to your camera while the timecode between both would be synced. If your camera doesn't support timecode, you'd be better off recording using one of the other timecode modes, which record both scratch audio and timecode at the same time.

This is so useful! And if on set audio is not required, I can just turn on my receiver and jam with TC-1, to have a two-cam setup shooting. Is this correct? I don't even have to turn on my transmitters.

Dear Rode, I have a dilemma. I have a zoom f6, and 2 blackmagic 6k pro. I had diety tc1 as the thing to get to introduce dedicated timecode to each device. But then wireless pro came out. So now I'm thinking the TC1 is just a wireless pro without mic capability... like I'm getting a 2 in 1. My set up would be wireless pro receiver hardwired to zoom f6 and each bmpcc6kpro hardwired to a transmitter... This a valid use case? And am I correct in thinking I don't need diety tc1? Seems redundant if u are choosing tween the 2. I already have wireless go 2 and I need timecode, so it seems like a no Brainer to get the wireless pro(they are mics too so they can do double duty if needed) Community, feel free to confirm what I'm saying, or take me to school. Currently for tc, I use the f6 to jam to cameras , but want full time devices to leave attached so I don't have to worry about drift.

Whats up @TeamTaur? So- the Wireless PRO can output timecode in two ways. Firstly, it can output timecode from the reciever to the transmitters, so the backup recordings they make have timecode embedded. Secondly, it can output timecode to an external device through USB audio and the 3.5mm output. When the Wireless PRO is set to output timecode to an external device, it does so only from the 3.5mm output and the USB port. So although the transmitters use timecode, they don't output it. Hey there- while we can't always comment on how third party devices will interact with ours, we can say that the Wireless PRO can be used to jamsync with any other timecode devices, cameras and audio recorders that are able to have their internal clock synchronised to a source device. Hey! When will you finally update the timecode capabilities? At the moment using timecode is full of bugs. Jam syncing my tentacle and deity timecode devices has a lag of eight frames. The onboard timecode recordings do not match, i.e. you can't sync TX1 and TX2 onboard recording in post. (there are sometimes 2 seconds in timecode missing juming from one 1 hour piece to the next. Using more than 2 TX is not possible, since you can´t timecode sync serveral Wireless Pro sets. And yes, on one gig there was an entire hour not recorded onboard. Which I have reported to Rode but never heard back on how to prevents such bugs in the future (other than reset the unit). I love the unit and I`d love to work with it but at the moment it is highly unreliable, especially when using timecode.

While we are looking into an update which would allow users to jamsync timecode from external devices with the timecode clock of the Wireless PRO, we can't say exactly when we'd be able to bring that update to our users at this time. However, the bugs you mentioned on the device are not acceptable to us and we take issues like these in our products very seriously. If your unit can sync with an incoming timecode signal, then yes, it will work with the Wireless PRO.

Need help with this... I followed the steps (trying to sync my wireless pro to my FX3 using the Deity TC-1) however, despite it looking like the audio was being recorded on the wireless pro, my audio in the edit is just the timecode sound :( Can anyone help with this? Has the audio been recorded as well? Would love for some help on this folks :)

How long can this combination go without drift?

The amount of drift you will get on devices that are jam-synced (so initially syncronised with the Wireless PRO RX and then left to free-run) will depend on the accuracy of the clock in the device. Other professional devices with accurate clocks like the Wireless PRO will remain in sync for a whole day. Devices with less accurate clocks will drift sooner - this depends entirely on the device being used. If your device exhibits more drift, then you can either re-jam more often, or re-sync things on the timeline as necessary in post production.

will it hold the sync when the mics are stowed away in the case or switched off? @@rodemic So for example, I sync in the morning, head out to shoot all day but in between the scenes switch the mics off or charge them in the case. thanks

to get this to work i had to 1.turn OFF bluetooth on the Deity tc1, you wont be able to the the Lin to show up unless you turn off BT, then you can jam the wireless pro to the tc1, i have the 3 piece kit so i had to turn OFF BT on each tc1 and jam it then turn bt back on Rode kinda missed that CRUCIAL STEP!!!
